Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Three Fields Entertainment have finally announced a release date for their ambitious arcade racer, Wreckreation.
Announced back in 2022, the game launches at long last on 28th October, 2025, as shown in the latest trailer:
The game takes place within a large open "MixWorld", where you're free to build your very own courses.
It looks like it combines the aggressive, high-speed thrills of Burnout with the track-building mayhem of something like Trackmania.
Whether it can live up to either of those influences remains to be seen, but this has been cooking for a long time, so we're hopeful it'll deliver.
Three Fields Entertainment contains talent from Burnout-era Criterion Games, so there is some pedigree there. However, the last couple of driving games from the studio haven't really measured up.
The difference this time is a much longer development period and backing from a major publisher, so there's every chance this could be the team's best game yet.

Wow, awesome. I’ve been waiting for this to release. Yet another day one before the end of the year. So stacked.
I really miss the arcade racer genre. Burnout 3/4 were perfection as far as I'm concerned and nothing since has come close (including paradise).
Why are they all going open world, it's so unnecessary in my opinion.
Got my fingers crossed 'screamer' might scratch the itch
Looks like a cross between TrackMania Turbo and Motorstorm, so I'm interested!
Interesting to see it's coming out on the old-stager too...
Love a good arcade racer. Hope this is one of them!
Looks interesting. I’m a fan of THQ Nordic so I’ll keep an eye out.
Also, I’ll take this racing game mention to post my obligatory request for a new Midnight Club game! The petition currently has 1 signature. I’m hoping my mom will join up with me soon. 😊
Looks good, throw some Dangerous Golf in too three fields, love that game 😉👍
@Llamageddon @Dodoo also keep an eye out for Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition, releasing october 24.
My four years loves Burnout Paradise and the demolition derby game for PS5. He's pretty good for a 4 year old. I think he would love this as well.
I wanna play this so bad! I love the Burnout series and have a feeling this might scratch that itch.
This game looks like the proper spiritual successor to Burnout we've been waiting for!
This looks absolutely fantastic.
