Zenless Zone Zero Settles Down After an Action Packed Summer with Smaller PS5 Update 1

The last Zenless Zone Zero update was a bit of a monster, with a new storyline, summer activities, and even an autochess minigame.

Things are a little lighter in v2.2, which is scheduled to release on 4th September.

We suppose the highlights are the two new characters: Seed and Orphie.

The former is interesting because she travels on a Segway and summons Seed Sr – a giant mech – to assist her in combat. Orphie, meanwhile, is capable of buffing the attacks of her teammates, boosting her utility as a damage dealer.

The update will also see the release of a new S-Rank Bangboo named Mercury, who provides tank support out on the field. Additionally, those of you who own the Soldier 0 version of Anby will be able to benefit from a bunch of buffs, raising her effectiveness in battle.

Many of the events this time are recycled from previous versions, including the tower defense minigame from a little while back, which is getting new maps and units. Complete the event and you’ll unlock the A-Rank Excaliboo.

There’s also going to be a rhythm-based event, as well as some minor quality of life improvements. Oh, and of course, the main storyline involving the Exaltists will continue as well.

So, a fair amount to do, then, but this is definitely a lower key update after a pretty major one earlier in the year.
