New Report Pegs Rumoured Persona 4 Remake for Imminent Xbox Showcase

Will there be that stupid 48hr embargo on announcing it'll be appearing on other platforms like they did with the other Atlus titles? 🤔

@Neverwild that's the main reason I don't buy their games brand new anymore, i either rent them or buy second hand along as they don't get a penny off me. I'm not helping fund future gamepass additions whilst us Playstation Players that have supported them for years get shafted.

Hard to believe I have never played a Persona game, what would people recommend, start with Persona or just play Metaphor?

This is great because Persona 4 needed the remake treatment far more than Persona 1 and Persona 2 duology.

@Oram77 I would guess Metaphor because if I read correctly it is more forgiving regarding its daily routines gameplay. I've played Persona and you need to plan your days. I didn't plan very thoroughly and still managed to play the game without major issues but it can be hard at times when compared to more traditional JRPGs.

I just wanted to chime in but of course, someone who actually played Persona and Metaphor will give you a much better answer.

@RagnarLothbrok Because almost every Atlus game Microsoft has partnered with has been their fastest selling games ever. Increases sales of their games on Xbox and PC, too. If Sony had the marketing rights to the recent Persona games, then everyone would assume they're PS exclusives, like most Atlus games in the past. That, in turn, would harm their chances of growing their audience on non-PS platforms.

Sony should pay Atlus for a change to have P4R day one on PS Plus. I don't want to pay full price again

I play p4 golden on ps5 last year i love it I don't think the game needs a remake i would prefer persona 6 or persona 1,2 remake but if ends up being real i accept it with open arms and excitement

My first Persona game was Persona 4 back in the PS2. Didn't have any issues, but couldn't complete everything in one playthrough.
If you don't mind that, P4 (or its remake I guess) it's a good starting point.
Metaphor is pretty much a culmination of past games. It's cool to see and play after knowing the past games.
Just be aware that you probably won't Platinum the games just playing them one time (if you care about that).

@Oram77 I'd start with Persona 3, then move onto 4 then 5. Purely so you can see how the series has evolved and got better with each new entry.

Amazing. Yesterday people were saying that it's great to see games arriving on PlayStation regardless of whether they're multiplatform. Now people are getting angry that a game might be announced on Xbox first (even though it will obviously be multiplatform).

It seems to me that certain PlayStation gamers don't just want games for their system, but they don't want anyone else to have them. And that's just pathetic.

Great game, possibly even my favourite of the 3 'modern' personas, but I've personally played through golden far too recently to be interested in this any time soon I think.
I'm ready for persona 6.

@UltimateOtaku91 Blame Sony for shafting you, not Atlus. They could pay to put the games on PS Plus like Xbox do for Gamepass. But they don't, because they know they can milk you.

Buy the game or don't, but denying yourself a game because it's on a service you had no interest in anyway and are unaffected by is childish and just shooting yourself in the foot.
