Cairn, the next game from the makers of Furi and Haven, has just received a release date on PS5.
The game, a hardcore climbing adventure, is set to arrive on 5th November, 2025.
Confirmed for PS5 back in March, this is all about climbing sheer cliffs and scaling an enormous mountain, and it looks like a tough challenge.
It sort of puts us in mind of Death Stranding, in terms of the technicality of its movement system and slow pace.
The good news is that we can now try the game out and see how it feels, because a playable demo is now available via the PS Store. It's about 4.4GB in size.

We're curious to see how much narrative developer The Game Bakers will squeeze into this one; it looks like our hero will have at least one climber accompanying her on the ascent.

I couldn't even finish the demo for the previous climbing game with more casual tone, forgot the name. So this will be a pass from me.

I'm very excited for this. I love Haven and I've only grown to love it more with time. I've been waiting for their next game for a long time.
Jusant felt a little too simple, I wanted something a bit more challenging and technical. There were loads of different real climbing techniques in that trailer. And the vibe looks incredible.
And that music!
Haven was great. Climbing sims aren't top of my list, but I'll give this a crack on the strength of that.
"Jusant" was a hidden gem and I'm looking forward to the demo!
