Assassin's Creed Shadows Co-Op DLC

Assassin's Creed Shadows' long rumoured co-op mode is apparently still in the works, with the intention being to release it as part of the game's ongoing post-launch support.

This is based on a fresh report from the ever-reliable Insider Gaming. Sources close to the open world title's development say that Shadows' team has been unaffected by Ubisoft's recent (and rather substantial) troubles, with the game's planned DLC and update pipeline remaining very much intact.

Claws of Awaji, the title's first expansion, is supposedly targeting a September release — although the article does claim that it could be pushed back to October, depending on what else the publisher has lined up for the rest of 2025.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned co-op mode might be eyeing a 2026 launch. Indeed, there's been no official mention of such an addition, so it'd make sense for it to be a lot further down the road, especially since Ubisoft has committed to around two years of support for Shadows.

Interestingly, there's speculation here that the co-op mode could feature new characters, and won't be limited to existing protagonists Naoe and Yasuke. Sources tell Insider Gaming that there's a "deeper narrative" to the content.
