Leaked MindsEye PS5 Gameplay Has Fans Giving GTA Veteran's Latest the Side Eye 1

We suppose it’s a little unfortunate for MindsEye gameplay to leak just as Rockstar reveals GTA 6’s latest trailer.

Led by GTA veteran Leslie Benzies, this faux-pen world game is similar in style to the old Mafia releases, offering a smaller-scale sandbox that largely serves as the backdrop for its narrative action.

The leaked gameplay, which you can find on the ResetEra forums, includes a vehicular chase sequence and a combat gauntlet in an industrial facility. It looks fine, but we can understand some of the complaints – despite the high-quality presentation, the gameplay looks like it’s stepped straight out of the PS3 era.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though: as the scale of games has advanced, we’ve honestly started to feel nostalgic for the simpler one-and-done campaigns of yore. While we understand there’s only so much time and money to go around, not every title needs to be a ground-breaking 100-hour epic.

Our biggest concern with this title is its narrative, which sees protagonist Jacob Diaz implanted with a mysterious neural component, which he’s eager to discover the origins of. It could be good, but it could also be pretty generic. The dialogue in the leaked gameplay isn’t exactly easing our concerns.

But we won’t have to wait long to put this title through its paces: it’s due out on 10th June, so it’s less than a month away.

Clearly this isn’t going to displace the biggest and best open world games on the PS5, but as something to blast through during the summer, we’re hopeful it can find its place.
