Wow! EA may be on the right side of history for once!
While it had seemed inevitable that all publishers would adopt $80 software prices now both Microsoft and Nintendo have pulled the trigger, EA says it has no plans to increase the cost of its titles, which includes juggernaut franchises like EA Sports FC, Battlefield, and EA Sports College Football.
Speaking to investors, as reported by IGN, CEO Andrew Wilson said his company’s primary goal is to “deliver incredible quality and exponential value for our playerbase”, and he singled out the success of recent co-op hit Split Fiction, which launched at a lower price point and has already blown through four million units.

“At the end of the day, whether we're doing something that costs a dollar, or we're doing something that costs $10, or we're doing something that costs $100, our objective is always to deliver incredible quality and exponential value for our playerbase,” Wilson said.
“And what we've discovered over the course of time is [when] we can marry quality and value together, our business is strong, resilient, and continues to grow.”
