Open World RPG Inspired by Manga The Seven Deadly Sins Will Explore PS5 1

A free-to-play open world RPG, inspired by Nakaba Suzuki’s long-running manga The Seven Deadly Sins, will launch day-and-date on PS5 – alongside PC and mobile.

You can wishlist The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin on the PS Store right now, with a new trailer scheduled to debut during Summer Game Fest next week.

“Step into the vast, beautifully rendered open world of Britannia, faithfully recreated from the original anime,” reads the blurb.

“Immerse yourself in a vivid reimagining of the world and experience a brand-new original story set within the familiar universe of The Seven Deadly Sins.

“Take on the role of Prince Tristan of the Kingdom of Liones and embark on a journey to restore order to Britannia, now thrown into disarray by a mysterious collision of time and space.”

From what we’ve seen of this game so far, it looks a lot like Genshin Impact, so expect bountiful open world exploration, tons of character building potential, and, yes, a gacha component.

The press release mentions that you’ll be able to fish, cook, and hang out with your allies, but there’ll also be dungeon crawling elements to keep you occupied as well.

Obviously with so many gacha games coming out on the PS5, this is going to need to be compelling to pull players away from the likes of Zenless Zone Zero et al. The manga already has a massive fanbase, though, so it’s certainly got a fighting chance.
