Basketball on PS5 and PS4 is dominated by NBA 2K25, but 2K Sports doesn’t have exclusive rights to license.

It’s somewhat refreshing to see Outright Games announce a more casual, family friendly basketball game, then, with Barcelona-based studio set to bring NBA Bounce to both the PS5 and PS4 later this year.

This is being pitched as a casual, family friendly experience, where you’ll play 3v3 matches in an arcade format. You’ll be able to create your own characters, play as any of the 32 mascots from the real NBA teams, and compete in your own playoff brackets.

In addition to the pick-up-and-play hooping, you’ll also find minigames and support for up to four players locally.

To be honest, we doubt this game is going to set the world alight, but there’s a real dearth of simpler sports games on PlayStation these days, so it’s got our attention for that reason alone. For as good as NBA 2K25 is, not everyone wants to play such a demanding game, so hopefully this can find a gap in the market.
