Rebellion has announced the big story expansion it has planned for Atomfall, titled Wicked Isle, will release for PS5 and PS4 on 3rd June 2025. You can catch the reveal trailer above.

Wicked Isle includes a new region for the base game, named Midsummer Island. You'll cross the waters on the shore of Wyndham Village to the new location that brings with it new characters, story leads, enemies, items, and "multiple" extra endings. It's part of the Deluxe Edition, or you can buy the DLC for £14.99 / €19.99 / $19.99 separately.

Ben Fisher, head of design at Rebellion, sets the scene for the expansion: "Midsummer is located close to the Windscale Atom Plant and as a result the levels of infection in both the people and environment are higher than on the mainland."

As well as an upgraded metal detector, you will find new weapons like a blunderbuss shotgun, cutlasses, daggers, and a staff to fit the theming of the new enemy factions: pirates and infected druids. The content will tie into the main game and offer new ways to roll credits for the full experience.

Released earlier this year, we scored the base game an 8/10 in our Atomfall PS5 review. Sharing praise for its British charm, overall concept, and setting, we concluded: "Atomfall commits to embodying everything it means to be British, and it comes out the other side all the better for it. The mystery at the heart of the alternate 1960s setting is gripping, forever teasing clues and solutions to a way out of its rural quarantine zone."

If you haven't checked the game out yet, it's currently on sale for £46.74 / $50.99. Will you return to the beautiful British countryside to experience Wicked Isle? Let us know in the comments below.
