RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business now has a confirmed release date on PS5. The standalone expansion launches on the 17th July, and we've got a cool new story trailer to prove it.
2023's RoboCop: Rogue City does a great job of capturing the often crude and cheesy tone of the old RoboCop movies, so we're hoping Unfinished Business is more of the same.
And again, this is a standalone expansion. While it takes place after the events of Rogue City, you don't need to own that game in order to play Unfinished Business — it'll be available to buy separately via the PS Store. We don't have a price point yet, however.

Here's a quick rundown of Unfinished Business via the press release:
"In addition to an all-new adventure, players can look forward to a host of new additions and innovations, including new weapons such as the Cryo Cannon, enemies including androids with katanas, and devastating finish moves. What's more, some gameplay sequences will allow players to relive events through thrilling flashbacks, giving them the opportunity to play, for the very first time in a video game, as Alex Murphy himself."
The expansion takes place within the ominously named OmniTower — a "massive housing complex" that RoboCop must gun his way to the top of. We're thinking along the lines of 2012's Dredd movie — which sounds great!
Oh, and it's worth mentioning that original RoboCop actor Peter Weller is once again reprising his role as the titular law enforcement machine (and Alex Murphy, obviously).

Expandalone’s ftw! 🙌
Actively playing it and it is a slog with all the visual glitches on PS5. Which sucks cause it's decent fun but all the glitches add up to a really subpar experience.
androids with katanas... OK... yet another developer who never see the movies...
@graymamba I like expandalones, but sometimes their pricing it higher than a DLC would have been. Hopefully the price is right here.
@MFTWrecks I really enjoyed the game but my God does it have a lot of glitches and technical problems it's awful in that regards but still I enjoyed it
started playing since it was a PS Plus game and was looking forward it, but this looks more like a mouse and keyboard game to me. I am tempting on getting this on Steam, would be better for my habit I would say. But looking forward the expansion, the time I played the game was fun.
Nice. It's a solid game. I'll gladly take more.
It's worth noting I spotted a standalone physical PS5 version on Amazon the other day on pre-order.
@djlard Robocop 3 has cyborgs with katanas. A Japanese Corp. ends up buying OCP once Delta City goes under then sends some cyborg ninjas to Detroit to secure their interests.
They call them the Otomo (in Japanese: オートモ Ōtomo)
@themightyant that’s fair enough but I personally don’t mind the extra expenditure if we get the option of another plat 😉
Hopefully included a platinum, the game was great. Here's hoping we get a sequel as well
@djlard Did you watch Robocop 3?
@GirlVersusGame huh... never know there is Robocop 3...
@djlard Oh yeah it came out in 1993. It has the same writer as most of the franchise, even the games like Robocop vs Terminator, the 2003 game. He's been involved the whole way up to the 2014 remake. Seth from The Last of Us (TV) plays Robocop in 3, Robert Burke. It's a lot more like the old 80's cartoon series than the first two movies, people weren't impressed but I like it. The 90's TV series isn't bad either, if you try not to take it all too seriously. The only really bad one is RoboVampire, it's a bootleg and has to be seen to be believed.
Can't wait. I absolutely adored the base game.
Physical pre-orders are priced at 24.99 GBP in the UK which seems quite reasonable.
@djlard snarky comments.. OK... yet another "fan" who never see the movies...
@GirlVersusGame no I run into a bug though where the frame rate went to about 15 fps on performance mode and one bug where I coudnt zoom out at all with the sniper rifle
Mrs genuinely loves this game. When she gets chance she’s on it. I’ll let her know 👍
@Lowdefal I can't forgive that stuff. It's every cutscene, every camera transition... Dropped frames, asset loading weirdness, etc. It's annoying and rips me out of things, especially since the game has so much dialog and mini cutscenes to go through. It's hard to ignore when nearly half the game literally highlights the least stable part of the package.
@extragood I get it. I've seen 1 and 2 maybe 100 times, but 3 never get in our country. Then, when internet came, I just went around and didn't think about searching if there is another Robocop...
I'm all in. Bought it on a slight discount and absolutely enjoyed it. Would be worthy maybe going back for a plat
@B0udoir No, and defending the game with your anecdotal experience doesn't change the fact it's glitchy as hell on PS5 and has been for a while. There are loads of people who had issues with the cutscenes as I describe amongst other issues.
Sadly, it's not well optimized for the platform and if the dev can't support its game, it's not worth me supporting them imo. Not my problem nor yours.
