For what it's worth, we think the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance did a pretty good job of telling a medieval story, complete with some entertaining characters, but its sequel is looking to push things further than ever before. Armed with what is clearly a bigger budget, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is dedicating a lot of resources to its cinematic narrative.

In developer Warhorse Studios' new behind the scenes video, we get a glimpse of what's in store. New facial capture rigs — custom made, apparently — allow the team to better portray emotions during key story scenes. In short, it's a big step up from the first title, which was somewhat limited in terms of technical prowess.

"We did not have this technology on #KingdomComeDeliverance 1. Now you will see every eyebrow raise and every idiosyncrasy from such a talented cast," writes Luke Dale, one of the main actors in the original adventure.
