Sony’s engagement with enthusiasts is non-existent in the PS5 era, so of course we know very little about the imminent Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We have to accept what we can get, then: like these new images of Peter Parker and Miles Morales in their respective default suits. As you’d expect from developer Insomniac Games, both outfits look ludicrously detailed.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is, of course, shaping up to be the biggest launch on Sony’s system this year, with its release date locked for 20th October. I wonder if Sonys studios are frustrated with Sonys poor/lack of communication to its fans?
To be fair, people keep saying about lack of comms but let’s not forget there’s a Starfield party going on on the ‘other side’. Makes sense to let that happen for a week or two before Sony steals the limelight.
That‘s this new movie, right?
I can wait to analyze these images then find something to pointlessly complain about!

Personally, I don't care about communication and all that. I care about games. And so far Sony has delivered. They can remain silent all they want, as long as they keep releasing excellent games.
Got over a month to hype and market it. Let people relax and calm over starfield.
@naruball Agreed. And i'd prefer announcements nearer to release than years and years ahead. But there's a happy medium I feel somewhere in between that none of the big players are hitting.

Lack of communication yh I agree with that considering theirs zero about 1st party in 2024 after Spidey2. One things for sure though, they ain't sitting on their backsides with all their ovens off. A rumoured SoP this year that hits the spot will go a long way, has to be slightly above decent at the very least with a peep at a 1st party for next year? I dunno lol. So many PS 1st party studios tight lipped for a long time now. Thank god for Insomniac games. Rise of Ronin, StellaBlade and SH2 ain't to far away
I fully expect to see the Sony big marketing to kick in soon, as we saw with the big game props left around the world.
How about having life size models of Peter & Miles swinging on famous landmarks around the world (permission granting)?
@Powerplay94 Agreed. I've been a little dismayed to see how many people have said it's hardly an update on the last game when, if you look closely, the changes are pretty vast. But we are at a point of diminishing returns for graphics, it's harder to wow every gen, especially with a mid-gen PRO update last gen.

It's only an issue for someone who has to write articles every day (sorry, Sammy! 💖), but for me it's not a problem
State of Play happens a few times a year, the blog has updates when needed and most of the studios have their own YouTube or Twitch channels that they stream on so they can stand out separate from the Sony brand. There's plenty of communication.
I prefer this to a cult of personality approach or updates that aren't really updates.
Will have to wait and see if the number of clouds will remain the same in the game as is shown in those images.

Releasing the same day as Mario Wonder so it's a hard decision for me. I'm really hoping there's more side missions in this game compared to the older one. It got really repetitive with the store break ins and robberies etc. Was hoping we'd get some Peter and Miles missions or walk around as them and then change in an alley like the movies. It'll be pointless, but more immersive.

@Kidfried I didn’t say the games don’t sell. My point was more along the lines of hundreds of devs pouring their time into these games for Sony then to remain silent.
Im sure they’d much prefer Sony shouting from the rooftops recognising their efforts and hey maybe they’d sell even more if they did.
