Red Dead Redemption PS4 PS Store

Update: Well, that didn't take long. Red Dead Redemption's somewhat controversial PS4 port is now the top ranking title on the PS Store, as once again spotted by Rockstar ultra-fan @videotechx on Twitter. Despite the high $50 asking price, expect this one to sell really well.

Original Article: The recently announced PS4 port of Red Dead Redemption is currently ranked second on the PlayStation Store's 'trending' page in Europe (as spotted by @videotechx). From what we understand, this means that the game's page is getting an awful lot of attention, with only EA Sports FC 24 proving to be more popular. In the US, Red Dead Redemption is third to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Grand Theft Auto V at the time of writing.

Just to recap, a lot of criticism has been slung in the direction of this Red Dead Redemption re-release. Based on Rockstar's official announcement, this new PS4 version doesn't feature any enhancements outside of additional language support — and it's priced at $50. With that in mind, some may find it a bit disheartening to see it picking up so much steam on the PS Store.

But it's worth noting that — as far as we know — the trending page is not based on sales or pre-orders. You can't actually pre-order Red Dead Redemption yet, after all (although you can add it to your wishlist).

Still, the port's proving to be popular. Here in the hardcore space, the re-release has been battered, but it's fair to assume that more casual gamers will be leaping at the chance to play Red Dead Redemption on current consoles. Don't be shocked if you do see the PS4 port riding high on the PS Store's best-sellers list in the weeks to come.
