Announced last week as GTA Online’s big summer update, here’s your first taste of the San Andreas Mercenaries, which is coming on 13th June for PS5 and PS4. It all looks rather Ace Combat, doesn’t it? The press release adds: “Join up with expert pilot and skilled merc Charlie Reed to lead his new outfit – the Los Santos Angels – on a series of dangerous counter operations to disarm and disrupt the ruthless forces of Merryweather Security, with the chance for you and your friends to earn your own fortunes along the way.”
Rockstar’s stopped short of sharing any further details today, but it promises more information about the update – which will also fix the release’s sprinting controls after over a decade – will be revealed imminently. “Stay tuned for even more info later this week, including details on how we’re continuing to build on and enhance the overall GTA Online experience with San Andreas Mercenaries,” the press release teases.

Because of the planes?... I mean sure but thats more like a single ml than an ounce. Ace combat has its own vibe and its nothing like this.
Either way, i wish Rockstar had done Single Player DLC for GTA V, the online stuff is really boring early on and even if the DLCs are good, I really cant care for it at all. This is a 9 year old game now (if you dont count the ps3 and 360 versions who dont get any new content) , it being supported this long is appreciated but it's time to move on.
Y'all aren't supposed to say things like "ounce" here. Gotta say something like there's "20 milliliters" of ace combat....

GTA6 is SP game, they will just move GTA Online over and go from there.
I just want to see Ace Combat 8 being announced. Don’t put this cheap crap in the same category as AC7 or it’s amazing VR mode.

It's nearly a decade old, still getting updates, arguably prevented a new GTA entry from being released on last-gen consoles.

Not much of a trailer. The title "Mercenaries" does bring to mind the fun I had playing Mercenaries 2.
Hopefully the running fix also includes a toggle option. So will it take another 10 years to fix the cover action and maybe even add the ability to crouch?
Honestly, this “feels” like Ace Combat as much as Bioshock feels like a Super Mario Bros game because you can wield a pipe wrench. I expected the trailer to have an orchestral soundtrack and an epic, melodramatic tone. Instead I got a rendition of Bluegrass rendition of Tiltrotor Tim’s Adventure Tours theme song.
