Well, we suppose this was inevitable, wasn’t it? PS Studios and Kojima Productions have announced a documentary film named Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds, which promises to take you “on a journey into the creative mind of the most iconic video game creator in the world”. The film appears to revolve around the establishment of Kojima’s own independent studio, and the creation of Death Stranding.

In the trailer, there are interviews with some of the cast members from the aforementioned game, including Guillermo del Toro. We also see lots of luxurious, slow-motion shots of Kojima himself – as well as behind-the-scenes footage from inside Kojima Productions. There’s no release date attached to the film, but the trailer notes it’s “coming soon”.

“Widely regarded as the first auteur of video games, this visually captivating documentary gives a rare insight into Hideo Kojima's creative process as he launches his own independent studio,” the blurb reads. “Featuring contributions from visionary artists such as Guillermo del Toro, Nicholas Winding Refn, Grimes, George Miller, Norman Reedus, Woodkid, Chvrches, and many others, this thoughtful film explores the power and potential of video games as an art form through the work of an influential talent revered by millions worldwide.”
