Sony PS5 PlayStation 5 Super Bowl LVII Sony God of War Commercial

The greatest show on turf is just days away, with the Philadelphia Eagles [Boo! – Ed] set to do battle with the Kansas City Chiefs [Meh! – Ed]. Of course, only a handful of true blue born again Americans tune in for the football: the real show will come during the plentiful commercial breaks and Rihanna’s half-time performance. Ella-ella-ey-ey!

Anyway, Sony may have something in store during the big game. As spotted by MP1st, the platform holder has been promoting a blizzard from Midgard this coming Sunday evening, and it’s encouraged fans to tune into the big game to learn more. Look, we know Manchester United play Leeds on Sunday in the Premier League, but we’re pretty sure it’s referring to Super Bowl LVII.

Our guess is that it’s got some kind of commercial planned which will play into its big global Live from PlayStation marketing scheme. The million dollar question will be whether it plumps up for one of the prime time slots, or if it goes with one of the side-shows – like the digital-only God of War Ascension ad it ran during the Super Bowl in 2013.

Considering its marketing has been a little quieter in the United States than the rest of the world this year so far, we’re actually curious to see if it’s stumped up the $6.5 million being requested for a single 30 second spot. We’ll find out on Sunday evening, as Patrick Mahomes terrorises that Eagles defence and claims his second ring. Book it!
