The next major update from gacha giga hit Genshin Impact is weeks away, and developer miHoYo has outlined what eager fans can expect. Scheduled to roll out across PS5 and PS4 – as well, of course, as PC and smartphones – the revamp will bring with it new characters, returning minigames, and much more. It’s being dubbed Windblume’s Breath.
“As springtime approaches the City of Mondstadt, the Windblume Festival returns with more challenges, rewards, and reunions for people to rejoice with the spirit of love and freedom,” the blurb reads. “Minigames, including the rhythm game ‘Ballads of Breeze’, the maze chase game ‘Floral Pursuit’, and the photo-touring mode ‘Breezy Snapshots’, will be available for a limited time. The festival will also welcome foreign guests from faraway Sumeru. As Collei revisits Mondstadt with Tighnari and Cyno, an adventure surrounding a mysterious prophecy will begin.”
Brand new banners will see the addition of two new characters with “different combat styles”. The press release expands: “The legendary Eremite Dehya wields her giant claymore and the power of Pyro in combat. With her Elemental Skill, Dehya can create a fiery field that not only deals Pyro damage to enemies within it but also transfers part of the damage taken by her teammates to herself. With her Elemental Burst, Dehya casts aside her claymore and strikes her enemies with fists and a stylish kick.”
It adds: “Another new character, Mika, is the most active cartographer at the Knights of Favonius. Not only can he wield his polearm and the vision of Cryo in combat, he can also target enemies with a crossbow and increase attack speed and physical damage of his teammates while using his Elemental Skill. Also, this four-star character can further help teammates regain HP constantly with his Elemental Burst.”
There’s a lot more going on in this update, with new quests and improvements. Those of you playing the Genius Invokation trading card game may be excited to learn about the addition of three new character cards, while there’ll be an extra Intertwined Fate on offer for each Archon Quest you complete. Not too shabby!
They only last a few more hours.

Looks great. Dehya looks amazing, and It's nice to see that will be added to the standard banner. I'm still going to pull for now though.
@themightyant Thank you!
Catch 22 for me. I'm eager to see where the story goes, but I also don't want it to go too quickly, because its slow burn is a part of what makes it so good. And the art style betrays how surprisingly deep the story is.
I don't get how people simultaneously brag that they never spend any money on this game and then sales say that this game makes billions of dollars. Y'all are cheeky little liars aren't you? Tossing a five or a ten their way is still spending money you know.
@ATaco It's because of me. I'm the dude that spends billions on Genshin.
Or maybe, there are some who don't spend any money, and some who spend a lot of money, and some that are in between?
Nah that makes too much sense, so it doesn't make sense.
Nah I've convinced myself that everyone spends at least some money on Genshin. Especially the people that need to constantly remind everyone that they're "F2P BTW". The endless grind already eliminated the strictly Free-to-play players, I can't fathom that they'll do this every day. Luckily it's not your job to correct the way I think about it and if it was you should just quit because you're not going to get anywhere.
@ATaco If you've convinced yourself then there's no logic, reason, or any actual evidence I can provide to change your mind!
So this conversation is entirely pointless!
@ATaco Most conversations are!
@ATaco Can't speak for anyone else, but I have two accounts and one i've been playing since launch week and have spent less than £70 on a few battle passes. Honestly I felt guilty as I had out in hundreds of hours and given nothing back. (Until I saw how much they were making) The other account is completely F2P.
When you have an estimated 60+ million active players monthly across all platforms, and you are STILL, two and a half years on, retaining players AND bringing in new ones they it's very easy to make these sort of numbers.
The reality is only a small percentage of whales, who spend thousands, or tens of thousands, topped up by some like me and a few who spend a bit more goes a long long way.
