PS Plus Extra, Premium Get 13 More PS5, PS4, PS1 Games Next Week

Devil May Cry 5 is meant to be excellent and I've never played Life Is Strange so I'm pretty happy.

As for Premium, well at least there are some PS1 games this time I suppose, even if I did have to google Star Wars Demolition.

Devil May Cry 5 is the standout title. Excited to play it!

Unfortunately nothing for me but still a good month. I've already played the ones I'd be interested in hopefully next month has something I haven't played.

I already own the bulk of the big hitters here which is unfortunate, but I'm looking forward to finally play Jett: The Far Shore.
Solid month overall to be sure.

Would highly recommend Devil May Cry 5 to everyone. Absolutely superb action game.

DMCV is amazing but as a lineup...let's just say I'm glad I downgraded to essential.

I, of course, just bought DMC5 less than a week ago. Great game though.

DMC 5 is fantastic. I always considered Bayonetta to be the pinnacle of these types of action games but DMC5's combat is so good that it's probably surpassed that.

Still nothing that people really want on premium. Also already got Hot Shots Golf 1. Not really craving more of it with nothing else lut

DMC 5 showing that not every action game needs souls like combat wish more developers would take note. Sayonara wild hearts has been on my radar for a while so get to try that.

There’s been so many times where I almost pulled the trigger on DMC5, DB Fighterz, and Omno. Glad I told myself no and didn’t buy them since I have a billion games in my backlog as it is.

Never played a dmc game before, so really wanted to try out dmc 5. Also just bought back for blood, but now I don't have to open my copy lol. Overall not a bad month. Hopefully some of the PS1 games have trophies.

Nice bunch of games there, will try dmc and b4b.

Never actually played a DMC game, can't say they ever appealed to me all that much but might give it a bash of I remember it's there.

Will play through LIS Before The Storm, never got around to buying that but enjoy LIS.

The Life is Strange games are great! Devil May Cry 5 is superb. Wonderful.

I think Sony needs to add more than three classic games a month, but this month is better in that regard than most previous months. They should really be adding 2-3 games each for PS1, for PS2, and for PS3 each month.

Great month! I just dont understand why DMC 5 PS4 and DMC 5: Special Edition PS5. As far as I know, PS Plus Extra (edit) is only for the PS5, why anyone would want to play the inferior PS4 version?
About the games leaving, I´ll try to play Leo`s Fortune, hope its not a long game.

Sayonara Wild Hearts is superb! One of the few games I have no hesitation calling a masterpiece. Such a unique gaming experience.

Given how quite Game pass has been its hard to see it as the best of breed when its been trumped several times by sony's offerings recently? I guess its all in the eye of the beholder (great old game), and very dependant on tastes

@Titntin Sorry, I was meaning PS Plus Extra, the game will only come out in extra, and as far as I know, the service is PS5 exclusive.

This is not good. Old games that most people have played and unknown cheap games. Why does Gamepass do so much better?

If you're adding DMC5 to Premium, why not just add DMC1-3 and 4SE to Extra tier of classic games/remasters? I guess that just makes too much sense.....

@Gbarsotini you are confusing PS Plus Extra with the PS Plus Collection I believe. Extra is essentially PS Now rebranded. The PS5 collection is the 20-25 PS4 games that are free to play as long as you own a PS5. That collection hasnt been added to in over 2 years and probably will be quietly discontinued.

I didn't try back4blood so that's good to try with friends. DMC is a must play so I already played that. Life is Strange was always on my mind but never got around to get it, so great to have it!

@Joabra01Swe or instead you can go over to Pure Xbox and tell them over there about how much you hate PlayStation and adore GamePass. Just a thought

Nothing for me. Premium/Extra needs more Day One releases from 3rd party and more current games from 2021/2022.

@Jayslow I'm sorry, that's right, I'm confusing it with Collection. In fact, in my mind, PS Plus Extra was also only accessible through PS5, I didn't know PS4 had it too. My PS4 has been off since I bought the PS5, I think my head is deleting information related to it. haha.

Extra is available on PS4, which is why they offer a Ps4 version of games where they also offer a PS5 version.

Disappointing month once again. I was going to say Back 4 Blood was the only one I was going to download but then read only the multiplayer is good. So nothing for me this month.

@Gbarsotini No worries. It really is unbelievable how confusing Sony had made things with their subscription services. Push Square literally has made multiple arguments about this (like what constitutes a "retro" game's inclusion in Premium vs Extra).

Two old personna games and rise is all thats announced for this month on Gamepass. This selection is better imo and Gamepass has been pretty bland for months.
I've been a GPU subscriber for ages, but its been poor recently.

PSN Plus Premium is an absolute snoozefest. I'll just carry on paying for the essential service, as I only really need the online purposes. My backlog is big enough as it is and if PS isn't going to bring some amazing classics from the PS1 or PS2 catalogue. Then this service is bound to fail further.

I plain forgot about this because Witcher 3 is just too good to move on from at the moment, so I'm glad it's maybe the weakest extra month there has been so far 👀

Looking like extra might get cancelled for me, if they don't add any big hitters, that is. Despite the year having been incredibly excellent value, and a great service, I've played most of what I got it for, and this year is going to be a year to buy games, and a time get last year's big games played too.

Might give devil may cry a go. Refuse to give Capcom money directly due to the censorship, but if they’ve been paid by Sony already…

I was litterally about to buy devil may cry 5 but you put a stop to that. The extra tier is great at this point, but they just need to add more classic games to premium tier

For me, until we get some exclusives that Xbox have promised an assuming they live up to the hype, PS+ extra an premium are better than Game Pass at the mo. Far better games an more AAA titles.

Seriously just get rid of it! It's worst than psnow. Xbox games pass is so much better. I don't own an xbox I own a ps5 BTW but I've got to be honest

A note on Sayonara Wild Hearts: I love the game, but it is MUCH better in "album mode", where levels run back-to-back without breaks. This mode is available under settings, but only AFTER playing through the game once with the levels broken up. It is a truly stupid move, but just be aware that there is a better version of the game available after you beat it once!

JC 4 at 60 fps would have been a blast.

Although nothing here that I’ll drop everything right away to play, but it’s not a bad month. Have considered getting DMC5 in the past, but honestly the game I’ll most likely play is that Jett: The Far Shore. I’m not sure how that ended up on my wishlist, but I like the looks of it.

I cant stop thinking about how we all wanted metal gear for ps+classic and sony went: "But son, we have Metal Gear at home"
and gave us syphon filter 1, 2 and 3.

@sjbsixpack Tough to deny that. Though I suspect MS is holding titles back to release them at their 'direct' show. Nothing at all in the second half of December, followed by just three titles now on gamepass is an historic low. I dont believe thats the narritive MS want, so I have to believe we will see a flood of titles 'given away' at the show.
Regardless, Im happy with the quantity and diversity of titles on this service... Its fun to try all those little ps4 titles ive never heard of. As im on premium I stream em to try em and only download if Im going to play them fully 😁

Omno and Sayonara Wild Hearts are the two titles I am interested in this month!

@nedbvai I completely disagree with you, for me the last 6 months ps plus extra has kicked GP butt! I'm subscribed to both and honestly apart from the odd game, GP and my series X have in the most part been a waste of money. I really wish I'd have kept my One X and waited until xbox got their act together. Got to be the worst 2 years of a console launch. I really hope Starfield and redfall deliver.
And looking through your comments and your love of GP, I think you bought the wrong console my friend.

Any month with Devil May Cry: Special Edition is always a hot month.

@Dudditz09 dmc v is pretty okay, combat's a very good time. Looks pretty as well but the dialogue's corny as hell.
If you end up giving it a try be mindful.

Premium is still crap can't believe how Sony fooled me again to buy for another year just to take advantage of special discount. I was hoping it will get better.

The more time that passes, the happier I feel that I didn't renew my Basic Subscription on Black Friday. I don't think Sony know what their doing anymore which is a shame because I'm really worried for the PSVR 2.

I guess it really depends on what you've played. Most of these games are all quite old and I've played many of them. Gamepass on the other hand is consistently giving out very new games like High on Life, Chained Echoes, Plague Tale, and now Monster Hunter Rise

@JohnSmitheroo Don't be concerned. Many of us are quite happy with the hardware, the games and the services. I'm sure Sony will manage just fine.

The Premium PS1 titles are good for anyone who’s a fan of those games, but I’m just patiently waiting over here for Legend of Dragoon

Problem with having game pass for years...I usually have already played the majority of games that are released on ps plus

I don't know these games, but I wanted to buy Back 4 blood and Ghost of tsushima before ps extra.
I am pleased I paid a bit more for PS extra in December. 😀 I can already play Ghost of tsushima, and B4B is on the way. It's like another Christmas without expecting it 😄

Ive wanted to play DMC5 for a while (although the trophy requirements are pjtting me off) and never got round to the LIS games, watched the wife play the first one and have always meant to give it a whirl. Also seeing some of the recommendations for Jett and sayonara will likely do those aswell. Good month for me.

The Premium games are still disappointing as with this month's free PS Plus games (to me at least), but I see a few Extra games I'll play so this month isn't all bad for PS5.

Life is Strange Before The Storm, Erica, & Omno.
With Dead Space Remake at the end of the month.

Game Pass will also keep me busy on my Series X with Persona 3 & 4, & Monster Hunter Rise.

Life is Strange and Star Wars pique my interest but this is overall still sad to look at. Can't wait for my Premium sub to expire honestly

@Serialsid it hasn't you can't beat day one games when playstation are charing 70 plus gamepass gets sniper elite 5 & many others day one. Don't be a fan boy

DMC 5 is a really great game but this is why I cancelled ps plus.alltogether. Its just really poor when compared to the competition and is just a bunch of old games iv already played. Not interesting at all

I managed to play just about every game leaving the service and even beat most of them. Definitely didn't plat or 100% them but I experienced them. That's something I guess.

So happy with hot shots. Its worlds above the first game it better have a platinum like the first

@nedbvai I'm not a fanboy, I have given MS and Nintendo a lot of money over the years, i have all the systems plus PC. Just saying for me personally, GP had not been worth the money over the last year.
I think ps plus extra for £83 a year and then paying £70 for a quality experience like Gow ragnarok is better value to me than GP and the odd good day one release. But that's just my take.
Hopefully xbox will get their act together and start delivering on their promises, actually manage the 24 studios they have and get decent games out there. And not half finished games like Halo infinite. I'm looking forward to sinking hours into starfield, let's hope it delivers.

@Mikey856 The fact that people are selling copies for 200-250 I feel shows there’s enough of a fan base to have it released on Premium as a classics addition. Crazy people are selling copies for that much though as I usually keep up with pricing for these things for myself and the site I use to track all of this shows that not even brand new in factory sealed packaging is selling for that much($160USD is the highest and that’s for the PAL and NA region copies with the black label)

@Mikey856 I’m actually in Canada so, depending on what your looking for for your collection, people will price games at ridiculous prices and come up with an excuse for it to be as expensive as they’re expecting for it. Great example would be the SNES Chrono Trigger, people here want like $400-$500 for just the cartridge, but with exchange rates $300 is the actual average that it goes for, but people expect more expecting you to not know any better

I mainly collect PlayStation so most of the prices aren’t TOO crazy just yet. You get the odd titles that are like Clock tower or LOD but most are under £100 in the uk. It’s Nintendo where things get really expensive. I only have 7/8 64 games all together easily cost me £1000

I’ve been trying to collect it’s just been a little difficult the past few years, mostly just due to having a hard time holding down a job. I pretty much have a list compiled for anything I don’t have currently and I’m just waiting to find it for a fair price as opposed to the prices most US/Canadian stores and resellers are looking for. I understand some games are hard to come by, but there’s no reason I need to be paying the equivalent of £150 for a game like Jersey Devil or £300 for Tomba

@LilianaQuinn83 yeah it depends what you want really doesn’t it. If you want the rarer titles like Tombi your gonna get your wallet out. I tend to collect games I used to play so not all mine are too expensive, unless it’s Nintendo 🙈

@Mikey856 Yeah it’s usually the rarer titles you’ll see higher prices for and, unfortunately, a number of games I’m looking to add to my collection are some of those rarer titles I ended up enjoying in my childhood, or it was just so widely enjoyed that resellers are charging a fortune for it(any of Nintendo’s Zelda titles are a good example of this given some of them go for $100-$200+ for CIB versions)

@LifeGirl I’m aware of the shenanigans that goes on currently in the collectors market, though not through YouTube or anyone on it, but I have seen comparisons between the UK and the US for the exact same thing, where a UK reseller sells let’s say a PS2 for £50(I may be over or under on this but it’s just an example) and a US reseller selling one sells it’s for £110 or so, I’ve seen that the worst reseller for video game collectors is DKOldies. It’s sad to say that since COVID all of it got worse and it’s even affecting hobbies like collecting merchandise specific to certain franchises where I’ve seen Pokémon collectors having to pay $300 for a figure that most collectors paid $30-$40 for pre-COVID, but because you have people getting into specifically to resell these things the value gets inflated to ridiculous proportions because there’s always at least one collector out there desperate enough/willing enough to pay the ridiculous price the resellers are setting. I’m kind of predicting that because of all of the artificial inflation coming from people only looking to resell the collectibles and retro video game collecting markets crashing to what I remember back when I was in middle school/high school where you could buy retro games for no more than $30

Just cancelled premium package and went back to the basic. I don’t feel love for this service, it’s cold and there’s nothing that makes me want to come back. I also don’t like how certain games dlc is blocked from purchasing if you use the Premium collection (yes, you Ubisoft!)

Less CAN be more. In this month’s case, I’m fairly excited to play DmC 5 and Back 4 Blood. In previous months, I wasn’t all that excited for any of the releases.

Omno is the standout title for me this month. Just my style. Jett piqued my interest. And I'll goof around with Dmc. If easy mode is easy enough I'll probably get a ways.

I don't like the graphics of devil may cry 5, somehow not polished, too blend, too dull, and too over the top. i compare it with bayonetta i just don't like the artstyle.

its better to buy games and focus on these instead of overwhelmed with free games, because this is what i hate about gamepass or premium subriptions, you get bored and start to dislike gaming.

i must admit it is a great experience for those who own a ps4, for those who own a ps5 it is one big soup of upgrades or dissapointments games are not upgraded.

for me perinaly, i just don't want to play 1080p old ps4 games on my ps5, no matter how good these games are, alot of people feel the same.
just give us ps5 exclusives no ps4 build also for ps5
