A VR adaptation of the Netflix series Stranger Things is being released at the end of next year, and PSVR2 may be one of the platforms to receive a version. Announced over the weekend and dubbed Stranger Things VR, it's releasing on "major VR platforms" in late 2023. You'd assume Sony's next-gen headset would be part of that lineup alongside other devices like the Meta Quest 2.
Tender Claws is handling development; its previous VR titles include Virtual Virtual Reality 2 and Tempest. Described as a psychological horror/action game, you'll "play as Vecna in this new Stranger Things adventure in VR. Become an explorer of unknown realities as you form the hive mind and tame the void. Invade minds and conjure nightmares in your quest to enact revenge on Eleven and Hawkins."
Various Stranger Things games have been released ever since the TV series gained significant popularity, but this appears to be the IP's first venture into virtual reality. Are you interested? Keep ‘em coming!
Still no email from Sony 😕
@KaijuKaiser
I’ve had one for years and bought most of the games for it digitally, still no email. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was random.
Definitely interested...
But still waiting on that email. I also owned PSVR and bought a ton of games for it digitally and even ordered the PS5 adapter for it. Please Sony...throw me a bone here!
Think it also depends when you registered your interest in psvr2. I did it months ago so got an email very quickly. Or maybe was just pot luck! Who knows!
This could be a ton of fun! Will keep my eyes peeled for this one!
@Vacuumator
May I ask when you signed up?
@Vacuumator
Me too. Thought people who got the emails might have done it recently after the latest announcement. Seems not. Oh well.
Sounds like a fun time, but not enough for me to spend $550 on an accessory.
