Update #2: Hideo Kojima has enjoyed visits from PlayStation’s marketing brass, PS Studios chief, and now PlayStation’s overall overlord, Jim Ryan. Concluding a flurry of office drop-ins, the auteur has posed with Jim Ryan, suggesting an announcement of Death Stranding 2 may be imminent.

We assume this will be the last of the legendary developer’s visits from Sony bigwigs, and at this point we anticipate a reveal before the end of the year.

Update #1: Now Hideo Kojima has received a visit from PS Studios boss Hermen Hulst! The former Guerrilla Games managing director is currently in Tokyo for work, and stopped by at the new Kojima Productions studio for a catch-up. We have to imagine Death Stranding 2 was on the agenda, although it’s worth remembering that the pair struck up a friendship when Hulst provided Kojima with a USB stick containing the Decima Engine’s source code at the very beginning of the original Death Stranding’s development.

Earlier in the day, Kojima had a conference call with Elle Fanning, who’ll star in his next project, and The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley.

Original Story: Two of the top executives from PlayStation’s marketing department, Eric Lempel and Craig Malanka, paid a visit to Kojima Productions’ new offices this week. The trip comes amid heavy rumours regarding Death Stranding 2, with a producer seemingly letting the sequel slip last week, before attempting to walk back the error.

Industry auteur Hideo Kojima has multiple projects in production, including one for Xbox, which is complicating current speculation about his next game. However, he recently confirmed that actress Elle Fanning will star in an upcoming project, alongside another mysterious actress, assumed to be Shioli Kutsuna.

While it’s far from confirmed, it’s looking likely this title will be a sequel to Death Stranding, which Norman Reedus had already accidentally leaked. Lempel and Malanka are likely in town to discuss marketing strategies with Kojima, as this will presumably be another enormous project for PlayStation to promote.
