Guacamelee! developer Drinkbox Studios has announced its latest game Nobody Saves the World will be released for both PlayStation 5 and PS4 next week on 14th April 2022. The port was initially spotted on PSN servers, suggesting the actual release would be coming soon. Now we know to expect it at the end of next week, with an announcement trailer sharing what we've been missing out on. Because of that leak, however, we know the title will weigh in at just 812MB.

The top-down RPG will also ship on PS5 and PS4 with a new local co-op update, meaning you can now play the game with a second person both online and at home on the couch. It will cost $24.99, with a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade available. If you pre-order the game on the PS Store, you'll get a 10 per cent discount.

As part of a press release, producer Graham Smith commented on the game's positive reception. "Whenever we try making something completely new it feels like a big gamble, so we’re really happy that the game has found an audience, and hope that even more people will be able to enjoy it now that it's arriving on PlayStation and Switch. Who knows, perhaps we'll have more Nobody Saves the World ideas and forms to explore in the future!" The PC and Xbox Series X versions of the game both have a rating of 79 on Metacritic.

When our sister site Pure Xbox reviewed the game, it was praised for "addictive dungeon-crawling action", its skill sets, and the nice art style. "Switching up forms, mixing and matching skills and hoovering up an absolute ton of loot is addictive stuff here and, although it can be a tad repetitive, this is one of the slickest indie RPGs we've played in quite some time."
