Square Enix has pushed out a new trailer for Valkyrie Elysium, which confirms that the action RPG will launch on the 29th September, 2022, for both PS5 and PS4.
This new trailer, by the way, is a lot more impressive than the title's debut showing. It's got battles, party members, and some nicely designed enemies. The combat looks a little bit wonky at points, but hopefully the finished product is nice and snappy.
It's been a long time since the Valkyrie franchise had a proper outing on PlayStation. The last entry to grace a Sony console was Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, which released on the PS2 back in 2006 — the same year that a port of PS1 title Valkyrie Profile hit the PSP.

It kinda feels like a lost game from 2009 that’s only releasing now. As if it’s from the era of Squeenix that put out titles like The Last Remnant. The muddy colours and blurry textures don’t help.
@nessisonett Between this, The DioField Chronicle, and the new Star Ocean, it feels like Square Enix is just throwing lower budget projects at the wall and seeing what sticks before all of the big Final Fantasy games arrive.
I just hope they actually end up being good!
Surely Valkyrie Profile Lenneth will be on Premium. That'll really diminish the value of the deluxe edition.

It'd be pretty sick if we got Valkyrie profile 1 & 2 on ps premium in preparation for this game.
I think the game looks alright, still keeping an eye out for it.

The graphics better than the earlier previews, now it looks like a ps4 games. Valkyrie profile on psone has way better voice acting though.
Man, I really want 2D-HD engine powered valkyrie profile remaster with 4K & 60 fps.

Looks interesting but i'm getting a babylons fall kinda vibe from it..might be worth a punt in a sale further down the line..
@ShogunRok Just for your information, those that buy the digital deluxe edition get Valkyrie Profile Lenneth (PSP) as a free download for ps4/ps5, which may be a sign its also coming to playstation plus premium soon

Looks amazing! Never played a Valkyrie game before but I'm looking forward to this. Really hope Sony puts the PS1 and PS2 game onto Plus so we can play those
Well, its looking better than the first trailer and that harpy-looking monster was pretty awesome. Would've preferred they kept the sidescroller RPG style tbh but this is better than nothing I guess.
I love og Valkyrie Profile, so I'm vaguely interested in this. Definitely will be a game I follow the reviews on and look to snatch on sale.

@ShogunRok SE did this a lot in the 2000's in the hayday of PlayStation 1 too. The Valkyrie franchise has always been good, so I expect this to be a good title too.
