It turns out Konami is still making games, and Bomberman is the series getting all of the publisher's attention. Super Bomberman R 2 has today been announced for PS5 and PS4, following in the footsteps of Super Bomberman R and Super Bomberman R Online — that last one's actually about to shut down. The sequel is out next year, and a first look at the bombing action can be had in the trailer above.
The big new thing here appears to be a battle mode called Castle for standard skirmishes and the 64-player Battle Royale mode. The story experience will then feature exploration, base building, defence strategy, and boss battles, according to footage.

Nice! I do love me some Bomberman!
Of all the Konami franchises out there, Bomberman is not the one I would have expected to survive Konami's exodus of gaming. No disrespect to Bomberman it is a fun series to hop into every now and then so who knows I might give this a shot.

Funny how Konami is shutting off the online component of the first game very soon in order to make people buy this sequel. Not impressed.
R was just boring crap - hope it's more like Ultra on the PS3 but it doesn't look like it, sadly.
Shame they dont do a 3d one like on the N64.
