This year marks Final Fantasy's 35th anniversary, and it sounds like Square Enix wants to make it a memorable celebration. As part of its most recent financial report, the company says that it expects to share its plans either this month or next (as per analyst David Gibson).
This probably means that we're getting more information on Final Fantasy XVI. The game's newest trailer is reportedly ready to go, and it's been suggested that a release date announcement won't be far behind. Square Enix apparently has "high expectations" for the upcoming RPG, which is being helmed by the team that transformed Final Fantasy XIV into such a huge success.
It's also worth keeping in mind that Final Fantasy VII Remake 2 — or whatever it ends up being called — is now in active development, so we might get an update on that as well.

Quite a bit of this could be down to Sony as well giving the timed exclusivity rights.

@nookie_egg It only began FULL development in November 2020. I highly doubt this is anywhere close to release at this point.

Oh no. Please have realistic expectations Square. It's going to be a huge seller but don't overdo it!
@jmac1686 Think they would have SOMETHING to show about it all at least. Even if it's a cgi trailer showing locations and whatever, I bloody loved the first part of the remake and I really want to get through the rest of it to see what they do.
Sounds to me like a Sony showcase if they can't provide a firm month for providing more info - Sony mustn't have nailed down when they will hold it yet - or Square can't say.
Would love to hear about the FF9 remake - assuming its true - but i dont see how Square can announce that when they are no where near close to releasing FF7 R pt 2

Guessing this is for a Sony showcase. I’m sure Sony is feeling more confident now that Xbox delayed Starfield and are ready to blitz.
FFVII Remake in the Xbox Showcase, FFXVI in a Sony event and FF Pixel Remasters in a Nintendo Direct would be neat.

Yeah it’s at least three years off.
The only good thing is that they can reuse the existing character models. Because I have yet to play a game that has character models as good FFVII Remake.
With that said… for the love of God Square, please put some attention into the environmental assets. I love FFVIIR, but the environmental graphics were pretty darn poor outside of a few in engine cutscenes.
Can we get a FF6 remaster? Please?

The FF Pixel Remasters ported to consoles would be nice, seeing how it's already on Steam. It would prob help fill in the upcoming PS+ Premium list incase FF Origins, Anthology, & Chronicles isn't on that list. Besides that I would rather hear more about FF16 than FF7 Remake Part 2, to be honest.
They can’t even predict what month they’ll give us an update. Square Enix is the embodiment of a dumpster fire.

@RevGaming I really have no idea what to expect out of Xbox’s June presentation. It could go like this: “You know how it’s rumored that every exclusive we had was delayed to next year or later, well, don’t worry because Deathloop is coming to Gamepass and so is Call of Duty. We’ve got a lot of games. We always have a lot of games. And we will have more than a lot of games. We know because we said it. We manage studios great.”
Or it could be good. Doubt they’ve got anything FF16 tier coming in 2022, but prove me wrong, Phil Spencer. I’d like to sweep off the dust from my Xbox. I spent good money on it.

I'm expecting a FF16 release date trailer and FF7 Remake Part 2 announcement teaser with no release window/date.
Also possibly an announce of FF9 remake and FF13 Trilogy remaster...we are long overdue for a FF13 series re-release.

Nah. I think they'll have at least 10 trailers from their studios. At least half of them are gameplay ones. I made a prediction on purexbox. I think it's due.
