Here's a new contender for our newly republished Best Horror Games on PS5 list: Paper Cut Mansion. Announced for PlayStation 5 and PS4 with a tentative release window of 2022, the game comes from the Liverpool based Space Lizard Studio. It's a rogue-lite and horror mashup where you'll have to overcome scenarios designed around escape rooms all within a handcrafted world made out of paper. Check out the gameplay trailer above for more context.

"In Paper Cut Mansion you play as Toby, a police detective who awakens on the road leading to the eponymous old mansion," a press release explains. "You will put those detective skills to the test as you seek to unravel the story behind this bizarre place, with each run giving you the opportunity to collect another piece of evidence to be tacked on the Evidence Board."

The Steam page then goes on to reveal there'll be multiple endings — 27 in total, apparently — to unlock, customisable equipment, and highly replayable elements. Of course, since this is a rogue-lite, there'll also be perma-death. Abilities will carry over between runs, and new equipment will be unlocked as you push further into the game.

Space Lizard Studio's past titles have been for PC and mobile phones, so this developer is new to the console space. Will you add Paper Cut Mansion to your PS5, PS4 wishlist? Don't give us a paper cut in the comments below.
