Well, the Jurassic Park scene recreated in Dreams was good, but this may be better. At the very least, it matches it: Polish creator BadRobo82 has recreated Returnal’s Archonact, and it’s a real achievement. With floating cybernetic tentacles and menacing glowing eyes, this monster looks every bit as fearsome as it does in the original game.
Of course, this all just speaks to the ongoing achievement of Media Molecule’s creation engine. It may not have been the kind of commercial hit that Sony hoped for, but there’s rarely a week goes by where we don’t see something impressive shared on social media. In this age of Minecraft and Roblox, you can’t help but feel like the package deserves so much more.

Dreams is probably the most innovative game released last gen and hopefully gets a ps5 update soon with haptic feedback content, also are people still supporting this game in terms of a lot of consistent created content?
Still believe this game should be given away with playstation plus and boost the amount of content available
I'm now sick of the word "content" 😂
It’s very clever but it seems like a lot of work for a clip that only lasts a few seconds (unless there’s more?).
This is really cool but I think it’s also a reason why Dreams never took off like a Minecraft or a Roblox. The ceiling is too high, it makes for an imposing room. People look at anything made in a Roblox and they feel… I can do that! Even if they can’t. This, this is like… looking at an Unreal Engine tech demo or something. “I can do that” isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.
I remember first time i saw one of the in the Crimson Wastes, I think it was actually my very first visit to Biome 2.
Wow, what is that! I thought, then it promptly killed me while my jaw was on the floor.
It's a shame Dreams never really took off, but, I mean, it is something more appealing to people who download Unreal Engine and Unity than gamers - it just wasn't ever going to get a mass audience. People would rather play games than make them.
That being said, it's fantastic to see what dedicated creators are able to dish out in Dreams!
@GamingFan4Lyf It's definitely one PS title that should be ported to PC and be in the PS+ Collection.
Impressive. I finally got around to buying this before Christmas, felt I had to support it. With a bit of luck I'll get some time to have a play with it.
Agree it would be really beneficial to port to PC and share content between the two platforms. PC is a much better platform for developing on.
@themightyant I disagree on the PC port - I think the full charm is that it's a game engine that works on a console.
Plus, no one on PC would pay for it when Unreal and Unity are free downloads and can achieve better results (not a diss on Dreams, by the way).
@GamingFan4Lyf It would need to ensure that there were restrictions in place on PC so that all games ran on console. Although there are already Dreams that bring your console to it's knees, so perhaps not.
I'm not convinced by the Unreal/Unity argument. Many people use Godot, Armoury, RPG maker, Defold and other engines and tools it isn't unreal/unity or nothing. One of the beauties of Dreams is they have designed an interface anyone can use with a quicker learning curve than most.
I think PC is the only way we will see Dreams expand. I'd also consider making it free and monetising another way e.g. game sales or after X hours. It's too good to be this niche.
If any PlayStation game needs a PC port it's Dreams. The PC crowd will eat this up. Make it free to play, finally add multiplayer and allow the creators a option to charge for their creations. The software deserves a bigger fan base.
@themightyant I agree on the last part - especially if it was another window into getting more independent projects onto PS4/PS5. Let's be honest, Sony has been taking a beating regarding perceived Indie support as of late - Dreams would be a neat gateway into the PlayStation ecosystem if it was turned into a more development engine approach on PC.
I only used Unreal and Unity as major examples. I know PC has a TON of game creators/3D art suites available both for free and pay. There is definitely no shortage of options in the PC space.
I didnt really enjoy dreams until i tried it with my kids psvr. that got me hooked. since then I've downloaded blender, UE4-5, and some other programs, bought a nvidia 3070 laptop, spacemouse and i still cant create like i did in dreams. everything seems so clunky and disappointing compared to the VR tools in dreams. I plan on buying the PS5 and psvr2 just for this game. Honestly if you haven't just created shapes in your hands in VR with this game you wouldn't understand. Its a beautiful thing to be able to resize and twist shapes, melt them together all at the same time, in real time, with 0 effort. This game is my all time favorite and should have its own place right in the operating system of the PlayStation. "Playstation Creation"? jump in and design, 3d printing, models, games... its so fun for the creative mind.
