Mortal Shell's new DLC, The Virtuous Cycle, was announced a few weeks ago, and it looks like a meaty update to the solid Souls-like RPG. The expansion releases today for the PlayStation 5 and PS4 versions of the game. Normally it would cost £6.99/$7.99, but a special launch deal means those who already own the game can get the DLC for free.

Between now and 23rd August, Mortal Shell players can claim The Virtuous Cycle free of charge. You have a five-day window in which to nab the DLC and save yourself some pennies. It's a nice bonus for fans interested in what it brings to the main game.

Most notably, the expansion adds a rogue-like mode to the game, great for adding some randomness and extra challenge to the action RPG. As well as a new way to play, you're also getting a new shell, transforming weapon, and over 125 new abilities to let you really customise your build. That's quite a lot of new stuff, and it's free for a limited time.
