Solid looking action platformer Fallen Knight is coming to PlayStation 4 on the 23rd June, according to the game's new boss-based trailer. As alluded, it's got fast-paced sword fighting, and it's set in a brightly coloured future.
"Fallen Knight is a futuristic tale that lets you play as a descendant of the great Lancelot from Arthurian Legend. Battle against a deadly terrorist organisation seeking to expose secrets you were sworn to protect. Take on unique bosses as you fulfil your oath to the Round Table and fight for the forces of Good," reads the official blurb.
But perhaps the most intriguing promise of Fallen Knight is that it has a kind of morality system. When you defeat an enemy, you'll be given the option of disarming them, instead of putting them to the sword. Doing this unlocks "alternate endings", as well as different abilities and upgrades. Sounds like it could be a neat twist on the side-scrolling formula.

Description sounds great, gameplay looks decent, but the artstyle looks exactly like mighty no 9 to me which immediately turned me off. Still will keep an eye out for this one!
Reminds me of Azure Striker Gunvolt.
This is also on Apple Arcade. I played it a little when it launched, but didn’t stick with it for long.
Gaining abilities after defeating bosses? Where have I seen this before...Mega-Ma...oh wait, no, it cannot be...
So it's bound to be a stinker then. Every time you hype a game it ends up to be crap. And when you slag off a game from day 1, it turns out to be a hidden gem. Like Days Gone which you insulted galore but was a fantastic game. And just cause they never greenlighted a sequel doesn't mean one will never happen.
It looks so much like Might No. 9!
Can’t wait to play as Zero... errr... Fallen Knight
"When you defeat an enemy, you'll be given the option of disarming them, instead of putting them to the sword."
Thats not much of a morality system. You make the choice to get the ending you want.
If you want morality systems, play games like Frostpunk where you have to decide if you allow child labor in the early days, or risk not having enough supplies for all of your people to survive the first cold snap. Where you have to decide if you execute people that speak up against your choices to maintain order and keep everyone alive, or allow freedom of speech and the possible negative consequences that come from that. Where you have to decide if you want to amputate limbs of your critically injured people (who may commit suicide, or may eventually work again), or let them die. Those or morality choices.
(I didn't intend for this to be an ad for Frostpunk, but calling out this game for its singular, doesn't really matter, morality choice does a disservice to games that actually have meaningful, impactful morality choices)
I think The Darkness and other games had this "morality" system as well?
MegaMan clone it may be, I'll still check the game out eventually.
