Here’s our first look at the next Life Is Strange protagonist: albeit a mysterious image that doesn’t reveal a lot. There’s already speculation, due to the way the shot is framed, that the character could be disabled or an amputee – of course, it’s also possible that they may just have their right arm hugging their chest.
We know that the title will feature a new cast of characters with new powers, as part of a brand new story. Whether fan favourites like Chloe and Max will cameo, remains to be seen. Development is almost certainly being led by Life Is Strange: Before the Storm maker Deck Nine, as it sounds like the Japanese publisher and creator DONTNOD have parted ways.
All will be revealed from 10AM PDT on 18th March, where Square Enix will also pull back the curtain on other upcoming games, like Outriders.

@swagbag713
You bothered enough to comment, dont care dont comment simple.
Hmmm interesting note about DONTNDO i enjoy there games and life is strange wont be the same without them, with that being said i look forward to learning about the game.
@swagbag713 the life is strange series is laughably stupid I don't know how anyone likes it unironically
@Logonogo It's the fact that it forces you to make rather tough decisions in order to progress through the game. Not to mention the characters have a lot of depth to them as well.
Mm - it’s very Chloè that shadow which is a shame as I had hoped they’d go very different with the type of character. Think they’re definitely bugging their arm so attitude, hat wearing... very similar.
Sister?
@Torakaka i find the characters to be about as deep as a puddle but to each their own
First one was great. I couldn't get into before the storm at all. 2 any good?
I’m almost certain it’s a woman 🧐
***potential spoiler alert*** Rumour has it, its a female lead called Alex who posesses mind reading powers.
Either way, she has to be better than bloody daniel. Man he bugged me more than any character in ages.
Would definitely be up for more max and chloe, but guess Square would set themselves up for fan rage depending on choices made in LiS1.
I am assuming Deck 9 are in charge. That gives me confidence this is in good hands. Even if they keep the episodic structure though, i hope they drop all episodes at once. They cant have a repeat of that disastrous release schedule for LiS2
@Saucymonk not a patch on the first. Its fine. But the characters, which you need to be invested in for a game like this, are not nearly as loveable as in LiS1
Defo missing an arm, i want a game where you play as the evil teacher though.
It's cool if the char is disabled and all, we don't have too many of those (well some with prostetic arms) but it feels like they're just going through a checklist at this point.
I’ll bet it’s about a pandemic that hits the world and the characters are trying to survive by washing their hands and looking for alcohol that they have to find and wearing masks. I love the series should be good!
@itsfoz Chole is an only child. So that's someone else, and Older Chole or Max perhaps?
I'm not too picky about the protagonist as long as it's Chloe voiced by Ashly Burch in an alternate universe in which she has a happy life... I guess I am picky.
@The_Real_JMK Yeah, hopefully, they let the adults write this next one, rather than the college grads.
Deck 9 on board please! I loved Before the Storm, it should be in good hands )
BtS was badly acted and the writing wasn't half as engaging as the original game. Although the dlc chapter with Max had the original's beauty and emotion.
@Athrum
What's more is I'm willing to bet the character is an African American girl
Hyped for this entry, I truly enjoyed the first game despite being spoilered a little by some reveals.
Definitely planning to beat Before the Storm and 2 before I can play this game! Also will start reading the comics.
