Prince of Persia Sands of Time 1

Ubisoft’s oft-criticised Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, which was originally scheduled to release on 21st January before being pushed back to 18th March, has been delayed indefinitely. On the franchise’s official Twitter account, a spokesperson for the development team in Pune said that the “passion and support” of fans is driving everyone to make “the best game possible”. However, in order to achieve that it’s decided to release at a later date.

The statement continues: “This extra development time will enable our teams to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original. We understand the update may come as a surprise and we will continue to keep you posted on the progress.”

The game did attract some criticism when it was announced in September of last year due to its overall presentation and aesthetic, so hopefully this delay will enable the studio to really enhance the entire project. It’s worth remembering, of course, that we’re still in the middle of a global pandemic, which is adversely affecting development teams around the world.
