Last year, Black Myth: Wukong, a Chinese action RPG, captured the internet's attention with a seriously impressive gameplay video. If you haven't seen it, please go take a look. It's a Journey to the West-inspired title that takes cues from character action games, and there's an undeniable hint of Dark Souls in there, too. It looks awesome.
IGN China recently released a brand new trailer for the game, which you can view above. Celebrating the beginning of the year of the Ox, this new video features gameplay and cutscenes not seen before, and it continues to look great. It's provided as a sort-of update on development, and gives us a look at some of the fantastical beasts we'll be battling and the player character's ability to transform. We can't wait to play this ourselves.
It will probably be a good while before we can, though. Platforms aren't confirmed yet, though the official site indicates it'll be targeting PC and new-gen consoles like PlayStation 5. With no release date attached, it could be a long wait, but hopefully it's worth it.
What do you think of Black Myth: Wukong? Prepare for Chinese New Year in the comments section below.

They need to do something to the way they export their trailers. People will think that's the actual framerate of the game, which is not the case, because other materials showed the game running at clean 60fps.
This game looks truly next-gen and I cannot wait
You lost me at Dark Souls
damn this game is awesome! if the story is anything close to this i'm in 100%. more please
I am just not trusting this at all since Cyberpunk happened. I'll wait a few weeks after release.
THIS is clrearly the best looking game on the planet atm. But I think this is not running on PS5 or Series X like in the Trailer. Highend PC with RTX 5000 or something. We will see.
As good as it looks, I can't help but remain very skeptical that what we're seeing is actually genuine. I've been burned way too many times to take this company on their word.
I try not to get too excited for games that are developed by teams with no track record but this just looks to be exactly what I want from gaming. Cant wait!
Is this based around Monkey King stories ?
Looks good, but I've never been into, nor understood monkey king stuff.
Reminded me a bit of nioh 2 when using enemies abilities, a bit like the soul core mechanic.
The level of fidelity in the early shots is breathtaking, this truly looks a step up on ANYTHING else I have seen.
But with that I do worry about an eventual downgrade.
It looks fantastic and an actual "next gen" game, i really hope the final product is near this level or at it.
The still shots at the beginning looked a lot more high rez than the action did. We'll see.
would love a release date for this there's almost no games I'm looking forward to with an actual release date
Visuals and combat looks good and all, but I mean why does Wukong The Monkey God or whatever have to be in everything that comes out of China. Is it a government rule? Is it the only way they are allowed to release a video game or something?. Wukong is in every game they make, it's obnoxious at this point.
The creative juices look to be flowing full stop into this one and I can’t wait to play it.
please say what platforms its coming too on the next trailer. Until then il be worried that this is just a tech demo
Way more Sekiro than Dark Souls; looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Sign me up!
looks great, awesome, the graphics, the motion, the light and shadow…but bored, I don’t know why, it looks just repeating some action and beat a bigger, faster moving boss. No Wow effect to me, just me.
I wish a moving or epic story of the game will make this another top hit in PS game library.
This looks so good and so much fun I almost would like to pre-order it, but after cyberpunk I will wait till I've read the reviews and seen real gameplay from consoles. Hate to admit but cyberpunk crushed any hype I can feel for new games
Its good too see that people get more skeptical after CP2077 man they burned quite some bridges with the gaming community. But the casual gamer would buy a ***** in a box if i has their brand on it they made that quite clear with the yearly crapfest released with sport games.
Trailer looked dope, but I'll wait for reviews and legit gameplay videos before buying.
