It looks like Resident Evil Village will take place in a forgotten village in Romania for the most part, as eagle-eyed series fanatics picked up on a couple of extra details from last night's showcase event put on by Capcom. Investigators have narrowed the location down to Romania thanks to the currency you'll use to purchase items from the merchant, known as Lei. That's the plural of Leu — the currency of Romania. As such, we can safely assume Ethan Winters will be scaling the unwelcoming paths and cliffs of the country.

The game doesn't start there, however. A few years after the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Winters and his wife Mia have settled down in a new location and put their past behind them. It's when their baby is stolen, presumably by Chris Redfield and co, that Ethan must travel to the remote destination.
