It’s hardly the highlight of this nascent New Year, but the Uncharted Movie is due out on 16th July, and its social media team is just beginning to spring into life. It released four fresh photos from the film, showing some of the props you can anticipate on the big screen. They include the usual suspects: diamond encrusted keys, maps, and ancient artefacts engulfed in cobwebs.
Principal photography on the flick finished last year – Tom Holland is already busy working with Sony once more on a new Spider-Man movie – but we should see a first trailer fairly soon. It could be a big year for Nathan Drake and Naughty Dog’s buccaneering series overall, with a new San Diego studio reportedly busy beavering away on a fresh instalment in the iconic PlayStation series.

If this turns out like every other video game movie, I demand the tagline “Indiana Groans”

@Orpheus79V It’s because it’s a placeholder.
I have faith that this will actually be pretty good. The source material is rich and more easily transferable to film than a lot of video game adaptations and the market is in need of an escapist spectacle. If Mark Wahlberg can nail Sully and they hit the tone of the games with some over the top action, I think we’ll have an actual winner here. I’m looking forward to it.
I actually think this will be a good movie. I was way more excited when the director was Travis Knight or Dan Trachenberg, but everything we've seen so far looks really promising.
I'm amazed this is actually coming to life after so long.
These movies aren't meant to be "good" lol.
they are meant to appeal to the gamers and the adventure types.
People are either going to love it because they know where it comes from and have played the games or hate it because they have no interest or idea of what this is.
I liked tomb raider, but it wasn't that great of a movie. I liked it because of what it represented.
However, the resident evil movies sucked large only because they didn't stay true to the story and went all hollywood which sucked but o well.
I hope this is good as i love this series.
Not a huge fan of MW playing sully so my bet is he's going to be terrible.
@get2sammyb fair enough then. sometimes though I have to say it looks like some companies just use placeholder logos.
Could be our first family foray back into theaters. I think our last family outing was Avengers Endgame. I'll probably take my sons to see Godzilla vs Kong in May while my wife is at work, that's my planned first theater visit. Hopefully I'll feel safe enough by then.
Is this CGI or Live - Action ?
