Looks like the closest thing you’re going to get to PlayStation Home on the PlayStation 5 is, well, NBA 2K21. For those of you who don’t follow the basketball franchise, its MyPlayer career mode effectively allows you to take your avatar online and shoot hoops with the game’s community. In previous PlayStation 4 games, this has been known as the Neighborhood, and you could also purchase clothing items and participate in other minigames.

On next-gen consoles, however, developer Visual Concepts is seriously upping the ante. It’s now transforming the Neighborhood into the City, complete with different districts that you’ll be able to represent. Familiar institutions are present, like the Gatorade Training Facility, but it looks like there’ll be more activities than ever before. You’ll be able to find your feet at Rookieville, affiliate yourself with different boroughs, and much more.

Personally, we really enjoy this mode, so we can’t wait to see how it improves and evolves over the course of NBA 2K21’s full season. You can read a little more about how it will all work in the latest Courtside Report, or get a brief glimpse of everything in the trailer embedded above. Are you looking forward to hanging in the City? Shoot from deep in the comments section below.
