Crumpets! Just how good does Sackboy: A Big Adventure look? Sony’s been quietly building hype for this quaint co-op platformer for weeks now with a series of new trailers, but the title was arguably the star of the PlayStation 5’s user interface presentation. Clearly, the platform holder has put a lot of work into ensuring the Sumo Digital developed release takes advantage of all the next-gen console’s features and functions, but even without all of that deep integration, it looks a joy, doesn’t it?

While we didn’t get to see a tremendous amount of new footage, the art style is really on-point, with a homemade hub map paving way to all of the title’s stages. In the game itself, we see some gorgeous ray traced reflections on the prize bubbles, while all of the texture work is top-class. It just looks like a delight, and the perfect launch title to both showcase the new features of the format and to play with family and friends. Move over, Knack – there’s a new launch game hero in town.
