Can you believe we're already weeks into the latter half of 2020? The year hasn't panned out how any of us thought it would, but at least we have games to take our mind off things once in a while. As we head towards the final months of the year, things are looking pretty good for PlayStation 4 fans. What are you planning on picking up in August and September?

Madden NFL 21 - 28th August
The latest entry in EA's ongoing American football series arrives at the end of this month. EA Sports is bringing "improved ball carrier mechanics" to the table this time, as well as better pass rush positions and plenty more enhancements. If you purchase the PS4 version, you'll qualify for a free upgrade to the PS5 version when it's out, which is a nice bonus.
Marvel's Avengers - 4th September
After some delays, Square Enix's take on the band of superheroes is nearly upon us. Featuring the likes of Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk as playable characters, the game is a Destiny-like action title with unique movesets for each hero. This game also benefits from a free PS5 upgrade if you own the PS4 version, so you know what to do.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 - 4th September
Also out on the same day as Avengers is this remake collection of the first two Tony Hawk games. Given the same treatment as the Crash and Spyro trilogies, this duo of PS1 classics is being revamped with modern visuals but familiar gameplay. It also retains most of the original soundtrack, and features enhanced creation modes so you can share your skate parks with the world. If you've been craving a new skateboarding game, this will certainly scratch the itch.

Just Kingdoms Of Amalur for moi.
Ghost of tsushima until ps5 for me, just played it for about 6 hours today and still on chapter 1 lol.
There's nothing absolutely must have for me here, but some things have caught my eye.

Mafia Remastered - played this on PC all those years ago, a superb treat
Tony Hawk is the only game I plan on getting, with Kingdoms of Amalur and the Mafia Remake being on the fence.
On a side note, I absolutely hate the Madden 21 and UFC 4 cover art. Easily the worst box arts of the year.
I think Tony Hawk will be the best out of those 3. Avengers doesn't look very good, to me at least it doesn't seem to have the same level of quality as Spider-Man PS4 or any of the Arkham games.

Avengers is day one. Madden, Project Cars 3 will probably be holiday sale purchases. NBA 2k21 day 1 on PS5 and may get WWE on switch if it reviews favorably.
Project Cars 3 will get delayed, I’m calling it now. It was announced out of the blue, with a short window till release, and the graphics have been underwhelming so far. I reckon Codies will delay it.
Possibly Kingdoms of Amalur.
I may pick up Avengers at some point but otherwise a pile of nothing, of course if Digimon Survive gets a date there I'd buy.
I'm waiting on the open beta for Avengers... It looks great, i just don't know how satisfying the gameplay loop is going to be. On the surface it is extremely my jam... but there's this small warning alarm in the back of my head.
I think I am going to bite and go for Avengers but not sure yet, Project Cars 3 maybe and does anybody know why Captain Tsubasa is so expensive???
After the Beta I decide on Avengers. Madden I have to get to play with the cousins and old college friends (that is just a tradition)

Played "Deliver Us the Moon" on PC game pass. And it was surprisingly entertaining. But I like Space stuff.
@Agramonte Was the beta any good? I presume it was if it means you are now getting the game but just wondered what your thoughts were! I wasn't too interested initially but along with the marketing I am being drawn in and thought this might scratch my Destiny itch

Yeah, same here. Also on the fence with Outriders. I just need 1 to be good.
I'll be picking up Fast & Furious: Crossroads, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, Mafia: Definitive Edition, and Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia.
None of these will be day one purchases, tempting as it'd be to support Trollhunters.
