Well, things just got a lot more interesting on the Silent Hill front. Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 and Heather Mason from Silent Hill 3 form the latest addition to PlayStation 4 title Dead by Daylight along with a new map named Midwich High School. That's really cool and all, but the real talking point here is the timing of it all. A Silent Hill reboot on PlayStation 5 is strongly rumoured to be a thing and with speculation pointing towards a console and game line-up reveal coming early next month, this could be just the start of the marketing blitz.

According to recent speculation, the Silent Hill PS5 project has been in development for 18 months, directed by Keiichiro Toyama. Despite Konami denying the reports recently, there's far too much smoke here for there not be some sort of Silent Hill game in the works right now. We firmly believe that these rumours will become a reality before too long -- potentially in just a couple of weeks time.
Do you hope the Silent Hill PS5 reboot is real? Let us know in the comments below.

Yeah this is mad timing. Surely not a coincidence?
So this supposed ps5 project will be multiplatform or exclusive? Since pyramid head is coming out on pc and consoles.
The game is real, too many people leaking the same thing. And the twits from Masahiro Ito are very clear. He is working on a new SH game.
Konami just say what it have to say.
@sawaoyamanaka Rumors says Toyama/JapanStudio is involved, so that pretty much make it PS5/PC only.
@sawaoyamanaka PS5 exclusive according to Dusk Golem who is the main insider leaking the Silent Hill info. Pyramid Head being re-used over and over was never the plan for Team Silent. He was supposed to remain only in Silent Hill 2, but Konami keeps pimping him out.
Bet it’s a bloody remaster. I’m all for them but not feeling it for this franchise. Brand new instalment please!
Wow, Pyramid Head and Heather Mason in the same game. I hate the overuse of Pyramid Head, anybody who’s played the game will understand why he really really shouldn’t appear outside of Silent Hill 2.
Im still reeling from the rumor that Bluepoint is making Legacy of Kain and NOT Demon Souls. Id of been happy with Demon Souls but LoK? Sign. Me. Up
I would be A-okay with an OG Silent Hill Remake, since that seems to be the thing nowadays. The PS1 original doesn't hold up very well, so a remake would make sense.
@Nyne11Tyme Hadn't heard this rumor about Legacy of Kain - that would be amazing! Can they just do both please?
The SH content looks really good and makes me want a new entry even more.
Here's to hoping the rumors are true.
@Nyne11Tyme That will imply BluePoint working for SquareEnix on a probably multiplatform game... So it's a bit hard to believe.
@DeepSpace5D pyramid head if he was pc and ps5 exclusive i would believe it. It will probably be exclusive for a year then go to other consoles after, if it actually exists in the first place.
This means nothing. It seems people on this site are reading tea leaves when it comes to the new PS5 exclusive Silent Hill.
The Saw characters released on dead by daylight with no tie in. Same for the Scream killer guy.
I suppose RoboCop in Mortal Kombat means a RoboCop game will also be a PS5 launch title?!
I get that Sony aren't saying anything about the PS5 so people are drumming up hype wherever they can, but without any evidence (and as of now there is absolutely zero) it's just not happening. I love Silent Hill but all this seems to be is very wishful thinking....
Would love to be proved wrong... But I doubt I will be...
@pip_muzz Saw, Scream, and RoboCop also aren't game franchises. There have been a lot of rumours concerning Silent Hill PS5.
@sawaoyamanaka - If and it's a big if, but if a new SH is being made by SIE Japan Studio then it won't go to another console. Every game they've developed or co-developed is exclusive to Sony platforms.
@pip_muzz Did RoboCop, Saw and scream have rumoured titles in the works with many hints from people associated to the original team behind their works hinting at new titles? No.
There are reasons to believe this COULD be happening, of course it doesn't mean it's definitely happening but why would Konami out of the blue show they care about the Silent Hill IP just weeks before the PS5 Reveal where it is rumoured there will be a Silent Hill Reboot announcement.
Sounds to me like trying to build hype/a new audience to the Silent Hill brand before the Reboot announcement.
But nothing is 100% confirmed, even you saying it isn't happening so let's see mate!
@LiamCroft True those horror franchises are screen only. But my point being that they had a character in Dead by Daylight solely and entirely unrelated to anything elsewhere.
The rumours about Silent Hill PS5 seem to mostly be coming from Twitter where "someone knows someone for sure"...
I would love this to be true. And I'll eat my words if it is.
The large amount of rumours just seems to be recycling all the articles written about the rumours themselves. In a few weeks time, if it's revealed I'll put on my dunce hat.
I have to admit, I have been sceptical of the new Silent Hill rumours, and I still will be until something is 100% confirmed, but this does fill me with some hope. It just seems way too much of a coincidence for this DbD DLC to be announced with all the rumours circulating. With little hints from Toyama, Ito and the like, I'm hopeful. Literally every part of my body is crossed for this reboot, and it will prove a great start for the ps5 if it is true.
@sawaoyamanaka Highly unlikely if it is being developed by Sony’s first-party studio SIE Japan. Can you list for me SIE Japan Studio titles from Sony that have made their way to PC?
@sawaoyamanaka, Unfortunately, as @DeepSpace5D has already said, all of SIE Japan's games have been exclusively for Playsation consoles. It isn't like the relationship that Xbox and PC has, judging how Microsoft has fingers in both of those pies. If it is real, it'll be a PS exclusive.
If Sony are involved it's pretty much certain to be an exclusive. Death Stranding felt like a one-time kind of thing with Kojima's involvement. If Sony have kept this under wraps quietly for as long as it's claimed, then it has to be a PS5 exclusive. As nothing else makes sense.
I’ll look forward to the incoming pachinko/mobile game with 10,000 micro transactions...
Speaking seriously though, it’s my greatest wish to have a new, Japanese developer proper SH game. I just have zero faith in Konami for obvious reasons.
@nessisonett It just shows Konami and the devs of Dead by Daylight don't care to respect his character
@Nepp67 Whilst I agree that Pyramid Head has been overused, hell, even Ito has agreed to that point, I don't entirely see why people are worrying about the lore in a game that isn't Silent Hill. Sure, it's using the characters but it's literally a game where killers hunt survivors, it isn't that deep.
FFVII Remake, Shenmue III, The Last Guardian, and a proper modern-gen Silent Hill sequel all happening in the same timeline? I don't buy it.
@nessisonett I do too, but, like it or not, Pyramid Head is pretty much the series mascot. All I ask at this point is that, if a new game is real and happening, they PLEASE not insert him into it.
This is the rumor of silent Hill coming back
@hoffa007 It's unlikely. Personally, I feel this is leading to something else Silent Hill related, possibly the Soft Reboot that is rumoured. Of course, that may not be true but I sure hope it is.
Yeah, I don't have an issue with Pyramid Head appearing as a guest in other franchises, cause it's not like it's canon or anything; but for actual Silent Hill games, he should have stuck to 2.
Rumour but not proven otherwise. It could be a bloodborne situation too.
@sawaoyamanaka What do you mean by a "bloodborne situation"?
@Frankkl_ Sony japan helped make it and that is why it was exclusive -_-
@sawaoyamanaka Oh, I see! I thought you were referring to some sort of rumour mill related to Bloodborne's production that I wasn't aware of.
@Makina sony and se have a great partnership. I mean ff7r got a year of exclusivity. I dont think its far fetched in that respect at all
@Ralizah They already tried it in that weird Western-made game. It’s kinda funny how he’s become a mascot considering what he does to those mannequins literally the first time you see him.
I feel like I really missed out on the whole Silent Hill series, they look right up my street. I remember playing the original back on the Playstation 1 whenever it came out and never managed to finish it
And then the other games just kind of passed me by.
Would like a remake of all of them like the current Resident Evil games.
@sawaoyamanaka Sony was the one who came up with the idea so it was exclusive from the start...
I think we'll be seeing less and less PS exclusives in the coming years.
There are so many rumours about old franchises being brought back at the minute that it's hard to keep up. However, Ryan and other Sony PlayStation execs keep talking about the platforms "legacy" and "legacy titles", so who knows. I'd be happy to see Silent Hill get a reboot. However, with all the other rumours Blue Point are supposedly working on 6 games, something has got to give at this point.
For any that don't know, a mangaka called Suehiro Maruo shared this reveal on his Instagram, quoting "We just started" along with "Masahiro Ito". There have been rumours that he was involved so this is obviously leading to something else big.
