Call of Duty: Warzone PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Call of Duty: Warzone is the new hotness in the Battle Royale arena, and with reports swirling regarding a PlayStation 5 version of Apex Legends, developer Infinity Ward has hinted that it’ll also be preparing a next-gen update for its first-person free-for-all. Chatting with GamerGen, Infinity Ward’s studio narrative director Taylor Kurosaki hinted that he's “sure” the developer will support Sony’s new-gen system.

“I know that our plan is Call of Duty: Warzone is going to be around for quite some time,” he explained, “so as soon as those new systems are out and available I’m sure we’ll support them.” The Battle Royale will obviously be playable on PS5 courtesy of PlayStation 4 backwards compatibility, but it sounds like Infinity Ward is planning an update to take advantage of the console’s new features.

All will be revealed, we’re sure, in due time.
