We already know that The Last of Us: Part II will ship on two Blu-ray discs, so this isn’t the most surprising tidbit in the universe, but a PlayStation pre-order page has revealed that the upcoming exclusive will gobble up at least 100GB of hard drive space. That doesn’t make it quite as big as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but hey, it’s half-way there.

In other Naughty Dog news, director Neil Druckmann has revealed he’s “heartbroken” by recent leaks, which spoil the end of Ellie’s sophomore adventure. Fortunately, the title has a release date now, so you'll be able to experience a fictional pandemic amid a non-fictional pandemic from 19th June. We can’t wait.

My body (ps4 hard drive) is ready
Might have to make a bit of space.
Just a reminder for everyone to stay on topic, and not to post or hint towards any spoilers.
Welp, guess Imma delete RDR2 when the time comes.
@ShogunRok Ive been so aggravated over this. Most games have spoilers I have to avoid but it’s usually for around 3 weeks at most but this game doesn’t release for close to 2 months. Almost 2 freaking months. I’d say almost everyone is going to get spoiled and it will come in a topic that is totally unrelated. That’s a long time to avoid spoilers.
Well if same as the last time - this will be the only game I'll be obsessing over. I can wipe the drive clean.
We need to wait 6 Months to a Year for the Nintendo Switch version of a game sometimes.
Avoiding spoilers for a few weeks is not a big deal for me 😅
Unfortunately I clicked on the wrong article on another site and potentially had some major plot points spoiled for me which I'm pretty upset about. But you know what? Screw the haters and the people trying to bring this amazing game down. I'm buying two copies in spite of them, and I'll get the eventual PS5 version as well. Day 1!
I wonder how big Ghost of Tsushima will be too?
@AdamNovice 50gb for now
@OmegaStriver great point there normally game leaks happen a week or two before release not two damn months. I was casually browsing unrelated Twitter articles before and boom plot reveals all over the place. Be careful
Seems like 100gb is going to be pretty standard in the years to come
I read all the spoilers, don’t get the big deal to be honest 😂
@DeepSpace5D K
I still haven't seen any spoilers yet except that idiot with the spoiler account name on here but who cares RDR1 is technically the spoiler for RDR2 😆 It's this sensitivity about spoilers that makes people speed run through games and don't enjoy it. Like, quick to beat the latest highly anticipated game and go back on the net to call it trash or how the previous iteration is so much better.
Made you look
Damn Wendy. That's a quarter of the space left on my Vanilla PS4. Lol. I have a 2 TB drive just chillin...might be that time lol
I have a 4tb hard drive so bring it on! 😈
@kyleforrester87 I’m glad someone as reliable as you had verified this for me. I figured it was just crybaby’s not getting the story they dreamed up in their heads for years. I for one wasn’t about to be deterred from playing the PS4’s swan song.
@JesWood13 Yeah I hope it is not a spoiler to say any controversy is really a bunch of nothing, unless you're a bit of a pleb, in my opinion. Enjoy!
Actually, it will take up exactly 0gb on my hard drive.
I’m not getting this game for the simple fact that ND mistreated it’s workers & Neil Druckmann himself stated that he’s putting his own political views into the game. That isn’t a spoiler because he said it on his twitter months ago. Look it up. I don’t know what it is, but we don’t want politics in our games nor do we want them shoved down our throat.
Cant wait to get the game. 😃👍
@kyleforrester87 The true injustice is the lack of colons.
@Enuo exactly, let’s focus on the stuff that really matters shall we.
@Akurusu the way you’ve worded your comment makes it sound like you’re speaking for me, yet I don’t agree with what you’re saying. Weird.
@oldschool1987 Do tell!
@Akurusu Good for you, now can ya kindly buzz off?
@avividan Oh that's not too bad.
@kyleforrester87 @jeswood13 Thank you both for restoring some faith in this community.
@DeepSpace5D you told enough for all of us.
@DeepSpace5D I’ll match your two copies with four and hand em out to some homies. F—k the haters/whiners/complainers. Forgive me moderators, the past two days have had me heated over the “controversy” that turns out isn’t really even a controversy.
@oldschool1987 Oh, but I’m just getting started!
@Jeswood13 Nice, I was thinking of doing something similar, maybe go digital and give away 1 physical copy somehow also. The whining and negativity since the leaks have been sad to witness. Nobody is forcing them to buy anything, but trying to ruin the story for others is just low.
@DeepSpace5D a plot is 1 part of the game. I loved the gameplay to the original. Loved the rush of the combat
@JesWood13 So you’re supporting a company that treated a worker so bad that he went and spoiled the game out of revenge? Sick. There’s a whole article on why they’re bad people.
@PCPS4XB Agreed, combat was excellent in the first. The melee had real weight behind it with each blow. They did a great job with the aiming system making it a bit shaky and realistic, but also providing nice upgrades along the way to where you felt more than capable of dispatching anything in your way by the end.
Grounded mode playthrough of TLoU is still one of my most memorable experiences gaming.
And even a few plot spoilers will not take away from the experience in my opinion. Anyone who played the first could see it was the entire journey including the more subtle moments that made it special.
@JesWood13 those are definitely haters because they know nothing of naughty dog quality is on their console. The closest they can get is the mediocre gears 5 with current graphics and last gen mechanics.
@DeepSpace5D that's cool, have fun!
@Akurusu I support companies who treat their workers like crap every single day. Multiple times probably. I don't know you or how you spend your money so I'm not making any conclusions, but it would seem hard to translate the moral high ground you are taking about a videogame into other areas of your life. I certainly couldn't do it, so I applaud you on your integrity.
Ahh s*it, here we go again. Time to delete some games again.
@Akurusu, this is what you said in the previous article when the leaks happened "@Lobbo95 It didn’t deserve to be leaked because I was anticipating it as well. But I’m pissed at what I saw". So what is it? Now you're saying you won't buy it because of something neil said before but then you were also anticipating the game three days ago? And you were spoiling the game too that day. Just another hypocrite.
@JohnnyBastos just look at what i post in my comment the guy is a hypocrite.
@Akurusu don't let the big bad world decide your fate! You don't work for ND so really none of the "drama" that's going on there should effect you or your decision to buy a GAME!
Looks like I'm going to have to delete some stuff (Hit Man 2, Dying Light, Resident Evil 3 and Lego Worlds (Don't judge me!) plus some misc pics/music and video apps 🤦🏾♀️
@Akurusu
It's kinda bonkers that Sony still sells the 500gb PS4 in this day and age with the size of games. I'm itching to replay TLOU on PS4 in preparation for P2.
im just not gonna worry about it since i am not gonna buy this sjw infested trash fire. a big thanks goes to the leaker that saved me $60.
@tinCAT-zero
I just finished doing that.
100% Platinum and no regrets.
A 500GB PS4 can only contain:
FF7Remake
Red Dead 2
COD Modern Warfare
Try add TLOU2 and its full. Madness
@Lobbo95 read & you’ll be able to figure something out. Yeah I didn’t think it deserved it until I found out how Naughty Dog were mistreating and not paying their workers, that’s when I changed my mind because they’re messed up. I stand by what I say, the game deserved to be spoiled because eff Naughty Dog, and it wasn’t just because of one worker. They were illegally withholding paychecks with some even being hospitalized because of how overworked they were. I’m not going to be buying a product that came at the cost of sacrifices that were not for the better. You work for free then come back to me.
This is where buying an 8TB external came in handy. Haven't had to delete anything in nearly three years.
And still over 3TB left to fill with over 200 games installed.
@DevilleDeau I don’t need to explain why this bothers me, but if you & want to support and cheer for a company that slowly kills its workers and does other terrible things then go ahead. Heres a toast the the gamers that don’t support abusers.
Oof! Never thought I'd ever start being concerned/rationing the external HDD,but might need too between this & G.O.T. Could save some deleting a little played RDR 2,but never want to update it with the RDR 2 online crud if I went back to it to play the story campaign...
Hey, ND there's a lot of GBs in your propaGBanda.
@Akurusu Kiss my @$$, I don’t support overworking people, but I also don’t support some nobody leaking the game’s story and ruining it 1) for the fans, and 2) for the other team members that worked hard for YEARS to bring this game to fruition. Get a grip, dude.
@JesWood13 Ew. You’re not my type. A lot of developers had the same mindset that the leaker did. This is karma finally catching up to those monsters & it’s only going to get worse.
@Akurusu monsters? Dramatic much? Perhaps you've never had an actual job in your life, because that is what it sounds like. Working 60-80+ hours a week for months at a time isn't being overworked.
It is called having a job, and a secure one to boot. If you can't handle that.....well, make room for someone that can, I guess. Doctors do it, nurses do it, factory workers do it, lawyers do it, game developers do it, farmers do it, almost every industry does it. I've never had a job that doesn't do it. As a matter of fact, I see co-workers disappointed when the overtime goes away, because they want the money. Often times they go get a part time job to replace it.
Honestly...your entitlement is showing.
@ChipBoundary I do have a job. It’s not being dramatic calling them monsters because they mistreat and underpay their workers. Maybe read what I said more carefully and look at the articles that mention this stuff. What entitlement? I’m disappointed, but not surprised that people are still defending their crunch practices and making it like that stuff is okay.
@Akurusu might as well never play any game ever again. every company mistreats workers in some capacity.
@Akurusu if they underpaid their workers, truly underpaid them, nobody would work there, or work there for long. I've read all the articles about the topic and your comments very thoroughly. It is being dramatic calling them monsters, because for one they DON'T underpay their workers, and for two, being made to work long hours constantly is 100% normal.
@Wickedspades Name them.
@ChipBoundary I was going to refrain from calling you an idiot, and in the midst of typing out that first part of my sentence I almost did. Working long hours is normal but what Naughty Dog is doing is an example of what companies SHOULD NOT DO. Instead of calling you a name, I’m going to be respectful to the site and just call you heartless for defending bad business practices.
Heartless? Really? Because I have no sympathy for whiney children that stamp their feet when they don't get their way? Also, you didn't refrain from anything, you implied it very, very blatantly. If you were really trying to refrain, you wouldn't have mentioned it in the first place. I have no compunction however, in saying that you are an entitled moron if you think what they do is bad business practices. It is a practice in place by almost every business, in every industry, in every state and country across the globe.
Now, I say entitled moron not because I know you, or because I have an opinion of you....on the contrary I nothing you, you are merely a paragraph of text on a screen to me. There is no malice or hate in my words. I say entitled moron because it is a qualitative statement for people that believe those are bad business practices. It is a statement of fact, nothing more. If you find that the statement qualifies you, then that is just how it is.
Working long, grueling hours at a job to survive is what you do as long as it is safe, healthy conditions. There are people that would likely and literally kill to have a job that worked them that much so they could provide for their families or at least themselves. And yet, we have people like you and others that seem keen on changing the world in a way that it doesn't need to. You'd have a world where nobody has to do anything they don't want to and nothing hurts their feelings.
If you want the truth about the situation at Naughty Dog, how about you go ask a CURRENT employee how it is there instead of some bulls*** reporter on the Internet which have proven time and time again that they are completely unreliable. In fact they very, very regularly... almost exclusively make things up just to get headlines and clicks.
But, I digress...this article is about a game, and not our world views. Something you have clearly lost sight of. Someone earlier took a LITERAL quote from your comments on a previous article showing that you contradicted your supposed values. So, will this be a good game? Most definitely for those than enjoyed the first one. I personally didn't, so it is almost a guarantee that I won't play this one.
Let people enjoy what they enjoy and keep your misguided political comments to yourself. This is not the place for them, nor will it ever be. This is a place for people to share their passion for video games. So please, keep to that and you'll easily avoid conversations like this.
