The Last of Us 2 Release Date Set for This Summer on PS4

Well that's surprisingly soon. Guess it was done and now they're mostly worried about leaks?

They went to all the trouble of cancelling everyones preorders,refunding their purchase,only to release this 3 weeks after the date it was last coming? Who is in charge at Sony?

Eh, I can wait a few more weeks for Ghost. FF7Remake was my main game this year anyway.

I didn't think it would be a massive delay. Mostly about getting the logistics in place and seeing where most countries are with their lockdowns.

Abit annoyed they delayed ghost to be honest, but at least its not by much. Sooner they get TLOU out, the better at this point

Can't wait for both titles ! The last 2 big PS4 exclusives were getting before PS5 . This generation is going out with a bang.

@hulkie i think they planned to release the last of us in September/October, but the leaks have forced their hand

2 days before my birthday, that works out perfectly!

Twist of fate, they decide to coincide it with ps5 release so they delay again with a ps5 and ps4 version on launch day.

Probably best to get it out as soon as possible, what with the leaks and all. Still a bit strange for Ghosts to be releasing before Cyberpunk, I feel like we’ve seen barely anything compared to Cyberpunk.

@hulkie Yeah, same. Hard to believe all of this drama and disruption amounted to a half-month delay. And right after the biggest twists in the game get leaked online. Hmmm.

More than happy to be getting these two amazing final AAA PS4 games, a shame so close together, but understandable with current circumstances. Takes us all ever so closer to the PS5!!

Get it out sooner to minimise the damage of the leaks affecting more and more people. Fortunately, I have not seen ANY leaks and can trust PushSquare to remain Spoiler free - at least up until the game releases and then be bombarded by many articles and guides lol...

Well that's great. But these days it's places like Facebook, WhatsApp groups or YouTube that are capable of spoiling pretty much anything for you, and not game sites.

So that's not long at all what's good, what isn't good is trying to stay spoiler free until then what will be near impossible.

That means we just have to get through May. And if that PS Plus leak is true, it shouldn't be too hard.

@Rob_230 @hulkie I think August was more likely, but in reality, they were probably waiting to see how the coronavirus developed. I guess they planned to have big launch parties, but the leaks kinda forces their hand.

Hell yeah 😎 really pleased with this decision. The last thing we need is PS4 getting sidelined.

I'm not interested in the story but I think the gameplay is going to be sensational. Im genuinely happy for the fans.

I'm keeping anyway from anything Last Of Us 2 in it, the delay wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. And Ghost Of Thushima comes out soon too, definitely getting both games.

@vhsodre That's a wild accusation and not backed up by facts at all - the rumour is that the leak actually came from a disgruntled ND employee who was unhappy over money - supposedly around bonuses. The leak itself is supposed to have come from an employee at a Sony owned studio. If it hadn't come out from a Sony employee, then people wouldn't be able to spread it.

There are Sony fanboys too that will want to spoil games for others as well - not just Xbox and you making accusations like that makes you come across as a Sony fanboy yourself and no better...

@BAMozzy You totally missed my point. The VIDEO was leaked. You have to play it to know the content since the video would never pop in front of you.
People that are spoiling the story surely watched the video with the intent of spoiling. The spoilers I read are from people that have nothing to do with support that ex-employee. They don't give a single f#%$ about crunch. They are nothing but trolls.

I am 36 years old. I have more important things to do than spoiling a Xbox game I don't care.

P.S. #1: The fact that I'm accusing Microsoft fanboys doesn't exclude the fact that I aware that Sony Fanboys exist;
P.S. #2: I believe these three people that spoiled the game for me don't respond for the rest of the Xbox community (I really hope so).

I’m going to say it now 2020 sucks. I’ve had a couple of story beats spoiled for me but that hasn’t dissuaded me from buying TLOU2. I’m going to play the game and learn the story on my own and if I don’t like it or disagree with ND’s decisions then that’s an opinion I’ve come to on my own. I don’t want some mean spirited troll who’s watched all the cutscenes with no context to tell me what to think or that it’s woke. To the person or persons who have leaked this I hope that you never work in this industry again and have to try manual labour doing 60hrs a week to get a fraction of what you earn playtesting games for a living.

Time to avoid comment sections of any TLOU2 videos until i beat it myself it seems.

The game might be a buggy mess upon release now since this release date is likely in response to the leaks
