DiRT Rally 2.0 will have more eyes on it than ever before as the title becomes available for free on PlayStation Plus this month, and developer Codemasters plans to take advantage of that with an important message in-game. Due to the current state of the world, the game will urge users to stay at home via advertising boards and messages displayed on its main menu.
Reported by the BBC, Rebellion will also follow suit. The studio's Sniper Elite titles and Strange Brigade have all been updated to give players advice on what they should and shouldn't be doing during these uncertain times. That will be done before even the main menu is reached, ensuring those who boot these games up will at least take notice of the advice. Meanwhile, Codemasters is implementing the message into the advertising boards drivers will race past as they attempt to complete a course in the quickest time possible.
The advice will only be displayed for players residing in the UK due to the nature of geo-technology targeting, but Codemasters hopes to extend its implementation to European and US users soon. Will you be looking out for this important messaging in-game once DiRT Rally 2.0 arrives on PS Plus? Spread the word in the comments below.

Shame the lock down was not January/February as it was raining constantly, so because March/April is sunny most people are sun starved! lol
Though some people are being really thick when they go outside!
Well it IS Codemasters telling me so I guess so..
It's alright going outside it's just about keeping distance from other people as a lot of people still are working and don't have a choice!
*Meanwhile, Codemasters is implementing the message into the advertising boards drivers will crash into as they go sliding off the track for the seventeenth time due to the b******-hard nature of this game.
Fixed it for you
So people who are still going without reason will think twice because now a video game tells them not to. I don't think so. The people who are flouting the rules have Rage Against The Machine's UK Christmas Number 1 hit as their theme song.
Maybe code masters could use this time to make a new micro machines game for us all...but a good one like turbo tournament or V3 or v4
preaching to the choir, well done 🙄
thank god this was given away so i didnt have to buy it. all live service games should be given away, becouse when servers are gone they are not playable anymore. no one wants to spend 60 dollars or more (dlc) on a game you can risk not to be able to play the next year or a few years later.
As long as the messages go after all this is over, I guess it's a good idea for the younger ones.
Good on 'em. Some people are unfortunately too stupid to actually heed this information. So whilst I respect what codemasters are doing, I feel they're unfortunately trying to convince people that almost probably are the least likely group of people who need to be notified.
Some people can't be either convinced of the severity of their actions, or are too stupid to even comprehend it. And I don't think any amount of messaging or hand waving is going to change it regrettably.
@Enigk Haha, this made me laugh out loud. So true though. Either they're anti-authoritarian or the flip side, they're tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorists, who think the establishment is out to get them. Or thirdly, they're just very stupid people. Let's not forget that demographic, because this percentage is still substantial.
@Grindagger lol I'm not sure if you replied to the right person, I just want a new micro machines game
@mini_piekarnik completely agree. Unless you’ve been living under a rock I think people have got the whole “stay home” message by now 🙄
@ralphdibny Oops my bad
Seriously!!!! Maybe I'm the only one but this info. is everywhere. Do we really need it in our games too? Stay out of my reality break!!!
@TheBuzz
Actually there is quite a big chunk of the game that is offline.
