Despite the coronavirus outbreak, CD Projekt Red says that Cyberpunk 2077 is still on track for its 17th September 2020 release date. Although employees are now working from home, the studio is confident that the project can go ahead "without major disruptions". That's according to a new post on the company's official website.
"There is no shortage of motivation and we also possess all the tools needed to facilitate remote work," states joint-CEO Adam Kiciński. "Our plans haven’t changed – we’re steaming towards the September release of Cyberpunk."
Making sure that everything goes according to plan must take some serious organisation at this point, so it's impressive that the developer is still banking on Cyberpunk 2077's agreed launch later this year. Of course, the situation could still change -- we're living in uncertain times right now -- and if it does, we'll be sure to cover the news.
Do you think Cyberpunk 2077 will hit its September release date? Take an impossible guess in the comments section below.

Okay seriously it's like 5 months away yet of course they're still on track to release it let's wait until 2 months before it releases and see what happens
Im just assuming almost everything game related has a high probability of being delayed.
Still i think it might be delayed if the situation is the same or (worse hopefully not) in the upcoming months.
I believe it when it goes gold.
Fingers, legs, toes and plums crossed that it does release this September.
Yeah I could see it getting delayed closer to release. It’s going to be really difficult coordinating a release in the midst of a lockdown.
The Witcher 3 and Thronebreaker were very bugged when they came out, so I'm happy to wait.
If the original planned release date was September, then I think it would be at risk.
However, the September date is a slip from April for bug fixes and polishing, remote working shouldn't have the same kind of impact during this phase as it would have during the main part of development.
Another slip from September would slide the game into the release slot for next-gen consoles, or even into next calendar (or financial?) year, with some potentially severe financial impacts.
I'd expect it to release in September, even if they have to compromise on quality to do so.
It doesn’t matter if the game is finished and ready now, it’s the production of the discs that’s likely to cause any potential delay (probably why TLoU2 was delayed)
@Nightcrawler71
Maybe, but I don't know if the distribution of physical media is a big enough deal to delay it again. What's the digital/physical split across all platforms, when you include Steam and the other PC storefronts? If the game is good to go and the only thing holding release back is pressing and moving physical discs, how long are they going to be prepared to wait? Would they happily miss Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas just so they could do a simultaneous digital and physical release? Surely they want to realise some ROI this year?
@Nightcrawler71 If logistics isn’t back to normal by September then we are in for a recession worse than the 1930s. We should be well past the peak by then it just isn’t feasible to stay on lockdown for that long.
Not to change the subject at hand, but it seems the only industry that had the least impact from the corona virus, is weekly blu ray movie releases.
Yay. With so many delays and cancellations it's good to know we can look froward to at least one thing.
Yes please! We were supposed to go to Disney World in September and that's shot to hell, so let me have this.
Like Drive Club the first trailer and music its set to gave me that must have feeling. I preordered both day one because of my personal hype for the games. I would have purchased the collection if the Mantis Blade girl was the collector statue. Anyway glad CDPR is still on track. But dont know if my steel book physical disk will be affected.
NOT gonna happen. Especially if distribution is compromised and Brick and mortar stores arent open.
@Nightcrawler71 Exactly. There is no way that TLOU2 wouldnt have released next month if they had a way for people to get the game.
