The turnaround on Resident Evil 3 seems insanely fast, doesn't it? The follow-up to the excellent remake of Resident Evil 2 is scheduled to arrive just over a year later, which feels very quick. A lot of the groundwork for this next instalment will have come from 2019's entry, but it's still an impressive achievement. Perhaps even more so is that it sounds like development is basically done already.
Capcom producers Peter Fabiano and Masao Kawada recently talked to Famitsu. After mentioning the 3rd April release date, the pair speak about the current state of the game, saying development is "almost completed" and estimate the title is about 90 per cent done. They also promise there will be no delay.
It's encouraging to hear that progress is being made so smoothly. Though the game isn't totally finished, it sounds like the team is down to fine tuning it at this point. Hopefully the end result will be another well polished experience.
There's still about three months to go until the release of Resident Evil 3. Are you excited for another Resi remake on PlayStation 4? Get spooked in the comments below.

Looking forward to this. Love 2 remake
Would have been strange if there had been delays seeing as this has been in development at the same time as RE2 Remake and they use a lot of the same assets, environments, character models etc.
However I am thrilled to have this coming so early in 2020 and am happy to hear any progress from the developers!
Still need to complete my second run for RE2 first!
I only care about a finished quality game. I rather see a game pushed back a month then on time and broken.
Development? Bah. It’s a remake. The revelopment is nearly complete.
Great to hear! It would be even better if they confirmed a Resi 4 remake 😉 I know most folks think it's not necessary, but having experienced RE2 Remake I want for part 4 to get the same treatment.
@gollumb82 I think 4 would be an amazing PS5/XSX title, revamped visuals, 60 fps in 4K and a revamp of the shooting mechanics potentially.
@gollumb82 resident evil 4 remake? you're joking right?
RE4 is going to be amazing on PS5.
I should really get around to playing this one!
@Undeadlogan What's wrong about wanting a complete remake for one of the greatest games of all time for the new generation mate?
Hopefully it does live up to RE2 remake standards, (still on my pile of shame sadly!). I hope the updates are not RDR 2/ GTA V bad with a multiplayer mode I'm not too concerned with playing...as for any other reboots would rather see RE Code Veronica X...really was the last of the older style RE games.
I’m almost done with RE2, so I’ll be ready for this when it hits.
@Undeadlogan
Not joking at all. The HD version just barely cuts it these days. This game deserves it. If you find the HD version sufficient, then fine. You wouldn't have to buy a remake.
So psyched for this! If they don't go on to make resident evil 4 remake, I hope they make resident evil 8. Really enjoyed the first person perspective. But I also love the third person perspective. Either one and I'm happy. Just don't remake 5 or 6 haha.
@ShaiHulud loll same man!
@DonJorginho let's see it's not old with fixed camera angles,tank controls and per-rendered backgrounds and you know what needs a remake? Resident evil 1 remake how 2 remake looks
@gollumb82 you mean resident evil 1 needs a full remake this generation like how 2 remake looks not 4 and 4 isn't old from the 90s
@Undeadlogan
Well, that's not happening. Capcom chose s remaster and I don't mind. RE1 HD looks and plays way better than the original. If they don't remake 4 then at least maybe we'll get RE8 down the line.
@gollumb82 yet you want resident evil 4 remake
@Undeadlogan
Yep, I'm weird like that. I look at RE2 Remake and think that 4 would benefit from it greatly as a more action-oriented title. As opposed to RE1, which is more of a survival horror and the fixed camera angles served a purpose.
@gollumb82 fixed camera angles outdated and resident evil 1 needs another today's generation and yet you asking for resident evil 4 remake which isn't old with fixed camera angles,tank controls and per-rendered backgrounds
