With all of the rumours and speculation and general excitement surrounding next-gen consoles here on the internet, it's easy to forget that we're not the only ones looking forward to seeing the future of gaming. Indeed, publishers and developers are also kicking into gear behind the scenes.
Many companies will have had a taste of the PlayStation 5's power already, and that includes EA and its studios. During its most recent investor's call, CFO Blake Jorgensen had quite a bit to say about the upcoming generation. "The power of the new consoles is gonna be substantially greater than existing consoles," he said.
"We can do a lot more [with PS5 and Xbox Series X]. Things we’re doing will blow people’s minds."
Big words from the publisher, making it clear that heavy hitters like EA are eager to get next-gen started. Jorgensen also spoke about the "innovation" that new consoles will bring to the industry. Exciting times.

The only thing that would blow my mind would be if their games came out complete and they abolished their predatory "surprise mechanics." But since that's the future of gaming, I don't forsee my mind being blown any time soon.
Hope so! Outside of Anthem I've enjoyed the games they've put out this gen.

I do believe next gen games can be mind blowing. Hope so
EA wont get any of my money until something good is slapped on the table. Be it a new IP or something wondrous of old ie...Mass effect trilogy, Dead space, SSX etc.
With it being EA its probably nothing to be excited about, bc it's their probably referring to sports games or another microtransactions filled mp game.

The only thing EA could do which would truly blow my mind would be to scrap all current franchises and come up with a completely new range of products.
All we're going to get next gen from most devs is more of the same, with slightly prettier graphics at higher resolutions and frame-rates, because that's all they and (too) many gamers care about these days.
EA are definitely the masters at blowing our minds...they took innovative/great studios like Bullfrog, Westwood, Criterion, Visceral etc., & absolutely buggered them up with mismanagement & interference & then closed them!!
