NieR: Automata was one heckuva ride, wasn’t it? The zany Platinum Games developed action RPG really captured the imagination, with its bizarre gameplay twists and stunning audiovisual presentation. There’s always been hope that publisher Square Enix would commission a third title in the series – especially after stronger than expected sales of the second game – but nothing’s come to fruition yet.
However, a new website dedicated to celebrating the 10th anniversary of the series has set tongues wagging. So far the page only includes confirmation of a couple of concerts, which are scheduled to take place in Tokyo and Osaka next year. However, there’s hope that the page may culminate in some kind of sequel announcement – especially as we near a decade since the launch of the original NieR title on the PlayStation 3. Fingers crossed.

Nier 3 would be very cool, although a remaster of the originals wouldn’t be amiss either, they’re somewhat lost gems.
Why does everything have to lead onto something else or have a hidden meaning. Have the days gone for taking things at face value?
STILL waiting on a decent sale on NieR: Automata. One of these days...
Hopefully Sony secured a deal way back in 2017 for a ps5 launch. Would be awesome to see that and HZD:2 as launch titles.
@swagbag713 Looks like the lowest it's been on the Playstation Store is $26.79. You never know, I might get lucky with the next sale, which should start on Dec 24th.
I have yet to complete all endings for Automata, but the story in the first one was stellar!
@cloud36426 Ohoho, no spoilers but if you’ve just done the first ending, it’s only beginning. Stick with it, you won’t regret it.
Automata was so good. No spoilers but I definitely went through an emotional roller coaster playing through it.
It'll just be the 2 Nier games ported to Switch....at full price a pop!
@glassmusic if u can get it for under $30 its a steal. One of my favorite games this gen. 9 outta 10 in my opinion.
Does anyone know the sales numbers? I would love to see another one. Though a remake or remaster of the rest of the series would be cool(i have no idea how many games are in this series).

@ellsworth004 As many that I could find, including the joke ones. The final 5 minutes are some of the most life-affirming in a game I’ve ever played.

@nessisonett I must admit the three playthroughs started to feel a bit of a chore but the final minutes really paid off. And no, I wasn't crying. I just got a Nier in my eye.
