Uncharted 4: A Thief's End wrapped up the adventures of Nathan Drake nicely when it launched on PlayStation 4 back in 2016, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the franchise entirely. A secret San Diego studio could be continuing the series with a fifth entry, and if that's the case, Nathan Drake voice actor Nolan North appears to be up for joining the team in its efforts.
In a tweet responding to his thoughts on former director Bruce Straley heading up an Uncharted 5 along with the return of Nathan Drake, Nolan North said: "Ready to break out my climbing gear!". We reckon the San Diego developer has been put together to continue Uncharted specifically, so if the famed voice actor were to join the project, it would probably already be partway through development. The team has made enough impressive hirings over the past year at least.
Following the ending of the fourth game, any sort of Nathan Drake return probably wouldn't be in the leading role, but we'd be more than happy to see him take up the role of Sully and aid daughter Cassie in her own treasure hunts. Would you like to see an Uncharted 5 on PS5? Fish for gold in the comments below.

as much as i like uncharted games, personally i feel it had a satisfactory conclusion and it's time to move on and stop milking it. on the other hand, UC4 has sold more than 16m copies, and as a commercial entity that's just way too hard to put on the shelf.
There's obviously going to be another Uncharted, but I'm not expecting Drake to be in it.
i want an uncharted with more cutter!
'Daughter'? 🤯
SPOILERS!....
I haven't played Uncharted 4 yet 😔
A Uncharted game with a younger sully as the main protagonist set in the 70/80's would be fantastic.
@Turismo4GT Too many years have passed to complain about this.
I could go for another game. Uncharted 5, for PlayStation 5. Count me in.
@OmegaStriver Yeah I know. I'm just kidding. Even though I really haven't played UC4 yet, I've known about the kid for a long time now, but I don't really mind about it. I will get around to playing it someday, maybe on PS5. More important things take priority, such is life 👍🏽
It depends on which direction they take with it. Sam, Chloe, Nadine, and Sully implied that they're all about that Adventure life. So, seeing them in another caper would be cool. Dragging Nathan out of retirement (again) would be a mistake.
The best way to do another one would be a 1970s adventure with Chloe Frazer's dad. He was a big adventurer/treasure hunter, Chloe alluded to a few of his adventures in Lost Legacy.
A young sully in the 1970s would be awsome.word up son
Old man Nathan Drake and his daughter Cassie Drake a bit like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
We either need to see Chloe and Nadine in a full-length adventure, because The Lost Legacy was and is awesome, or it needs to be all about Sully. Not a young Sully, either, but "our" Sully, the cigar-chomping, grey-haired butt-kicker who's always "getting too old for this" but still has one last fight left in him.
Given how perfectly Nate and Elena got wrapped up, they could only be (very) brief cameos, if anything.
And no more Sam Drake, please. Yuck.
I don't care who is in it, I just want more of the adventure.
Uncharted in ps3, put me in the PlayStation family again after the break of ps2. So a great YES for me too for a sequel in ps5.
I would like to see a new structure though. More open world, like Rdr2/ac odyssey and in a different time period as other mentioned. Not rpg thought, just action performer.
@playstation1995 this!! I don't know why but I think he should look like magnum pi in it! Word up son
Crap. looks like they're gonna end up milking this. U4 was a satisfying end to the series. It's time to move on. They're gonna milk this yet Jak and daxter, which really ended on a "one more game is needed" type note can't get a 4th game. Come on ND
Kitty got wet!
@R1spam. Hahaha that would be awsome also.but magnum pi the 1980s one is a classsic.worr up son
I'd like another Tomb Raider too.
@JohnKarnes Facts, we need more games like this, just like Apostage said, more Tomb Raider as well. I can't get enough of these games.
I'm in the minority then if I say that I wouldn't mind more Nathan Drake in Uncharted. It could be a prequel to 4, or a sequel with him being a mentor to his daughter. More Uncharted is a good thing! To those talking of milking the series: the same could be said about The Last of Us, which had a perfect ending. At least to me. I guess we will have to wait till PS5 for Naughty Dog to be allowed to come up with something new.
Just have it ready for PS5 launch Doubtful but it would be nice.
I know I'm going to get ripped apart for this, but more UC2 and much less UC4 please. UC4 was probably my biggest ps4 disappointment. Maybe Arkham Knight.
If we do get another one I would like to move foward, not backwards. Prequels feel like such a cash grab and waste of time since we basically now how it all ends. I'm 100% on board with playing as his daughter with Drake taking the role of sully 👍
imagine nathan and elena joins cassie to help her during the final part of the game, what a family reunion that would be specially if cassies relationship with her parent are the focal point of the story
Imagine he replied 'I'm not interested' instead.
Either way would make the headlines haha
the last uncharted game was 'the lost legacy' and after seeing what direction naughty dog have gone with political agendas and 'the last of us2'. you should know by now that they replaced drake with big stonk wamen. so its not gonna be a surprise what the 5th game is gonna be about if it ever happen. anyway as someone here said longer up in the comment section, the uncharted games had a satisfactory conclusion with the 4th game, and its time to move on and let the uncharted games rest.
Could they not create an open world title based on the Uncharted Universe? It would be nice to have something like GTA but with Globetrotting and treasure hunting as theme.
Ill happily buy any new UC game. Great few stupid hours of shooting stuff up.
Probably be a stereotypical Hollywood story, the daughter is an explorer herself, finds/steals something valuable, gets caught and the bad guys find out who she is. Nate comes out of retirement to help her and kill loads of bad guys.
I'd love it if Cassie is the main character, though I hope it doesn't then feel like a Young Adult novel due to her age, with the new cast age-shifted down. Obviously she wouldn't be about 11 or 12 like at the end of UC4, they'll have to age her to more like 15-18 at least.
@leucocyte here's a solution don't buy it when it's out
