Update: The chart below has been updated based on new information from UKIE.
Original Story: We're afraid the UK is rather unimaginative when it comes to buying video games -- especially when the new footie game from EA is out. The latest physical chart sees FIFA 20 once again in the top spot, and it's maintained this position despite a number of new releases. Though we didn't expect Sony's Concrete Genie to slay the goliath, last week's result was rather disappointing, and the gorgeous adventure has now disappeared from the top 40 entirely.
A duo of Switch titles debut in fourth and fifth, while Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville plants its roots in number six. Borderlands 3 slips down to 10th place, but Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is still motoring along nicely. There are a number of big games approaching fast, so things should look pretty different in a week or two.
Here's the latest top 10.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 19th October, 2019
- FIFA 20
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Ring Fit Adventure
- Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY Edition
- Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
- Minecraft
- The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Borderlands 3

Hey Switch users, how'd you like that silver?
That makes me a little sad
i really enjoyed concrete genie
Wow who's buying Ghost Recon? That game's awful.
Good to see Switch owners giving Geralt some love
I hope MediEvil gets higher then 35 to debut at least!
Also I figure Ring Fit Adventure at fifth makes us... decently imaginative even if it's a weird ring controller peripheral and some excercise game!
@carlos82 casuals go for name recognition and coop games. So even tho this game has been getting mediocre reviews and it's even possible to get the final mission in the first ten minutes it's been marketed to hell. Unlike concrete genie unfortunately.
That a depressing chart.
@ApostateMage ?
Concrete Genie is still missing in all the shops here. Doesn’t look like they will be getting it. Very strange.
@SoulChimera Yeah, I had to go to 2 stores to find it. I’m a dedicated fan who went with full intent to buy, so you can’t help but wonder why they produced the discs in such scarcity ... it leaves no possibilities for people to buy it on a whim or for parents to pick it up as a gift for their kids on a random trip to the store. I know they don’t want tons of copies sitting there unsold, but it seems they really should have marketed and got it out there better.
And what in the world is Ring Fit Adventure? Sounds like an engagement simulator.
It seems that kind of art games like concrete genie just didn't sells, it's either AAA games or interesting indie games that sells to the masses (like no man sky, cuphead, ori, or stardew valley).
Well, can't blame sony if now they're more focused on their 1st party AAA catalogue, which is pretty good and my main reason to buy ps5
GTAV is back again?! Gosh darn it. At this stage, we should just nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
looks like someone is gonna blame sony again for concrete genies sales even thought it receive tons of reviews from major gaming sites and receives alot of trailer before the release
Such a shame CG didnt get the advertisement it should have. Such an original and charming game that deserves better. It was a pleasure to show my support with a purchase.
The mighty grand theft auto 5 is still legendary in the top 10.no other video games series sells more than gta.word up son
@quinnyboy58 I was asking if Switch players like The Witcher 3? It was a reference to what Geralt says in the game. I was trying to be clever.
I think concrete genie had a very limited physical release. Sony needs to speak up on digital here
I did my part and bought CG the edition with all the extras. Love the art style, only played the intro so far, once i clear my current games i'll dive in properly!
@ApostateMage sorry not played much of the game so went over my head!
@Th3solution It's a fitness thing for the Switch. Google it and have a laugh.
@thefirst I kickstarted the first yooka game so i will be buying The impossible lair, i went a bit over budget with games this month but will add it to the collection soon!
Again, stores aren't really getting copies of Genie, only like 1 or 2 will come in a week and those copies will sell, it's definitely treated as a downloadable title first and foremost by Sony.
@JohnnyShoulder oh ... I like the idea of searching jewelry stores for the perfect fitting ring better.
Ring fit adventure is awesome. three days in a row exercising and i m not gonna put it down anytime soon
@Th3solution it’s like an exercise rpg I think 😂
Even though it's no surprise, that's a shame because Concrete Genie is a solid game.
@ztpayne7 I like that — a new sub genre. Exercise RPG. It’s role playing like you are exercising, but not really. 😂
We need digital sale charts for concrete genie. Might be another story than.
Let's see if it appears on the monthly PSN charts for either US or EU. I didn't know it even had a physical release. I played the Concrete Genie and really liked it.
I thought Concrete Genie was a great game. I am on a second run through and its a truly beautiful game. I hope Sony keeps supporting these games and developers as its what makes the PS4 standout.
