Indeed, we haven't seen The Last of Us: Part II in action since E3 2018, which seems crazy when you stop to think about it. But now with its return just days away, are you excited to see it again? honestly, NO i didn't even like the first one that much
(and before anyone says "then why bother posting" the article asked us if we are hyped for it)
I'm pretty hyped. I just want a release date.
It's like walking for days in the desert and you're desperate for water.
Except we've been waiting years and the speculation is like mirages lol.
@FullbringIchigo My thoughts exactly. Only Ps4 I game I traded in, massively disappointed with it.
with the absent of uncharted this is the only game make sony a big first party company.
@YETi @FullbringIchigo I can only apologise for the tidal wave of dislikes heading your way lads
@ShogunRok doesn't bother me
but i can see why others would love the game though but it just wasn't my cup of tea
HYPED is an understatement, I honestly don't care about anything else PlayStation related. Not the PS5, not Death Stranding, not even the new purple dualshock.
I don’t want to know a single thing more about the story. Just show some multiplayer to show off new mechanics or whatever and leave it at that.
Super hyped and I most want a release date.
Yeah baby! Looking forward to it.
@ShogunRok I understand ...all good.
I'm really looking forward to TLOU2 but all my hype is used up for Cyberpunk 2077.
Is water wet? Is the sky blue?
If we’re done asking obvious questions let’s all move on
I loved the first. Played it multiple times across both PS3 and PS4 but am I hyped for the sequel? Not even a little. Dont ask me why because I honestly don't know, but for some reason I just do not care about it.
I'm a big fan of the original but returning to it recently the story holds up far better than the gameplay and the likes of Resi 2 has far surpassed it on that front. Naughty Dog are a top studio and it probably says more about how much gaming seems to have evolved in the last couple of years than anything else
I found the first game to be amazing, but also not fun. After how dark I've seen TLOU2 go, I think I'm going to hold off on part 2. Part 1 dragged a lot at times.
@HellOfaHunter God of War, Spider Man, Ratchet and Clank, Bloodborne, Horizon, and Gran Turismo say hello. Plus dozens more.
I still need to play the first one, but Naughty Dog = Auto Hype.
@FullbringIchigo @YETi
Before I ask my question, let me clarify this... I'm not trying to argue or whatever.
I wanna know why didn't you like the game if you don't mind? like what about the game puts you off?
Just curious.
In 40 years of gaming, the first is the only time I've ever actually found my eyes moist... that opening scene. Very much looking forward to the second.
@get2sammyb Me too
cannot wait for it! loved the first one it was just a perfect game for me. 🙂
@Homo-Ludens honestly the game play it just felt a bit monotonous plus it had a few other niggling issues such as your knife/shiv only being able to be used once, the long walking segments were kinda boring and the insta kill clickers were just annoying
@FullbringIchigo I've been in the position of not liking a game that's popular before. Props to you for sticking with your opinion.
I am hyped for multi player more than the story
I'm not hyped for it because I hate using that word. Am I reasonably excited for it? Yes.
@optic_efun11 it can be a minefield to be sure but that's how i feel just like i'm sure you do about whatever game you didn't like and i'm not going to lie about it just to go with the crowd
when it comes to games we are all different and we are going to like different things so i say who cares if someone thinks your wrong, you like what you like and you don't like what you don't like
@HellOfaHunter nice try 😂
Yes i am.the first game is a masterpiece.word up son
Very much looking forward to the follow up to the best game iv played.
Expectations are high
I've found the first one one of the most overrated games I've played this generation, along with Horizon Zero Dawn, so I'll pass. Hope it will be everything the fans would like it to be though!
Not hyped. I've seen more than enough. I'd rather just play the game at this point. I don't need any more spoilers.
I remember thinking The Last of Us was an amazing game, that I pretty much played exactly once. I never played the multi player. I will want to play the sequel.
Can't get over how boring post-Jak Naughty Dog games are. Also they could have more fun with the naming of this second entry. First is 'Last of Us'. Followed by 'Even Less of Us'. And of it's a trilogy, end with 'Least Amount of Us'.
I'm reasonably hyped for it. I didn't think the original was as special as it's made out to be, but it was still a good game regardless. Hopefully Part II builds upon it and delivers something truly amazing.
Very hyped, i never really warmed to the first game but after replaying it a year back i fell in love with it. I think a big problem is i first played it on PS4 years after the original release so i had all these big expectations for it what it couldn't live up to, replaying it i was more realistic so i ended up loving it in the end. As for what i want for this well a release date will be nice as would a spoiler free trailer.
I played the first twice, back to back.... How did I find the time? I replayed some a couple of months back just a few hours but it did not have the same pull. I do hope it does not go more in the uncharted direction. I have never finished a uncharted game and only got a few hours into the last one before putting it down. But I don't really want to see any more of TLOU2 I would prefer to go in blind. Again, I just hope the writing and tension lives up to the first
@Broosh I thought the same thing, but then I've recently replayed the first two Jak and Daxters, and they were not all that great either. The second one especially was quite mediocre.
Can't say I'm hyped, post-apocalyptic survival games generally are not my kind of thing.
Super hyped. I just want the release date.
Extremely hyped, when we talk about greatness, this is the pinnacle of it. All bow down to the naughtygods, game of the year.
@YETi @FullbringIchigo Glad to know I wasn’t the only one. Same scenario here. Caught up the hype and bought it at launch and in the end had to force myself to finish it over several months (had a friend clear a boss cos I couldn’t be bothered). When it finished, I just felt nothing. No joy, no anger, no satisfaction, no disappointment. Just emptiness. Took disc out, placed in case, placed in box of games to sell / trade. Remained there till I traded it to a friend. Honestly, a game not even worth an emotional response.
@FullbringIchigo
Agree 100%. Glad I'm not alone.
I think i'm gonna wait for the ps5 version, cause there are only two things certain in life: we all die someday, and there will be a ps5 remaster of TLOU2...
@NinjaWaddleDee hahah finally i make the discussion heating up.
I was kidding by the way. just like you guys i admire sony
PSN: HellOfaHunter 😁
i have no hype for this game at all, the developers killed it. when they revealed that lesbians stuff in the barn, later they also did show their true colors when it comes to their politic agendas. i play games for entertainment not be spoon feed lesbians and politic agendas. the game have a apocalypse setting, you would think that people have more important thing on their mind like surviving and food. than lesbians, diversity and sjw silliness. i loved the first game with the father and daughter fighting their way through the country and surviving. this new game i have absolutely no interest in at all.
@TheBuzz Forget the lesbian thing it's a game. i am from middle east and such relationships is prohibited and our community standards doesn't accept it.
Last of Us gives you three simple things not avaliable in too many games these days. Story, gameplay, and graphics.
@TheBuzz Did you play the game? "Father and daughter fighting their way through the country and surviving..........."
Firstly Ellie was not Joels daughter, his daughter died and second Ellie was already a lesbian in the first game.
Buy hey, fake outrage and all.
@HellOfaHunter yep i can't blame people who want to be gay together or lesbian together in real life. lesbian thing doesn't bother me in TLOU part one : Riley and Ellie ended up in love with each other.
@Homo-Ludens I think my expectations were too high tbh. I didn't pick it up on day of release and I always read how many awards it had won, high review scores etc. etc. Just wasn't my cup of tea gameplay wise but admired the look of the release.
Naughty Dog has my money if they show me only the title of their next game, so no gameplay can change my mind.
Am I hyped for the return? Yes....but I'm HYPED to finally GETTING the game.
@TheBuzz You think that humans won't behave like humans in a post-apocalyptic setting? Of course they'll still forge romantic relationships, just like how Joel and Ellie forged a platonic one in the first game.
@Playstation5 yes we have to look for the bright side of the game and forget what doesn't belong to our terms the game will be sold to mature not kids at the end.
for those who dose not play the first part please reconsider and give the game 3 hours you will be thrilled and by the way the game looks amazing on PS4 60 FPS at 1080.
@HellOfaHunter lol yeah just no to that smh
I don’t get hyped for games that are months out to release any more. I don’t choose to be that way, I just am.
I’ll get hyped when it’s a couple weeks from release and here’s hoping they don’t screw up MP if they have it.
@ShaiHulud I love the first game to death and I could only stomach one playthrough of 2. So abysmal and horribly designed. I do think 3 was a bit better though. I just prefer gameplay over cutscenes and current Naughty Dog is all about cutscenes.
I loved the first but every gameplay video has lost my interest more and more, I no longer care about it, the demo videos so far just haven't sold me on the sequel. I will wait and see what the reviews are like.
@HellOfaHunter i don't think it will run 60 fps on PS4 Pro.. it probably lock steady 30 fps
The first is my favourite game of all time, I can't wait. Only edgelords hate on it.
I'll admit, I don't know a ton about the series. All I know is it's an apocalyptic survival game with zombies starring a guy and Ellen Page who is now a lesbian in the game as well as real life.
Not interested...
@FX102A probably the edgiest comment here.
@TheBuzz Well said. Agreed on all fronts.
Not personally hyped as I wasn't talky a fan of the first one. That being said I know how big of a deal it is so I'm hyped for others if that makes sense lol
@Broosh I found the first Jak fantastic at the time, but replaying it now unfortunately turned out to be a tad disappointing. It still has a nostalgic appeal to me, but other 3d platformers from around at that time aged a bit more gracefully I'd say. Holding the third one off at the moment but I think you're right in saying that that was a bit better than 2.
I am somewhere between hyped but don't want to see more and Meh, I'll check it out but I am not hyped. Its a game I'm gonna buy regardless of whether we see more or not but looking forward to playing it is not the same as being 'hyped'. I expect it to be visually impressive and well polished and something I will play through. I have no interest in it as a MP game so 'half' of it has no appeal at all.
I don't get 'hyped' until I have a release date - no point getting overly excited before you even know when its releasing and won't get 'excited' until its the 'next' big game I am getting. There could be quite a few games to come before LoU2 releases from my perspective....
@oldschool1987 Trust me, I could have been a lot worse if I expressed how I really feel about this game....
But that’s honestly how I felt, I even had to have a sit down and think about what I had just experienced.
At the end of the day I just feel it’s a major example of “not for me” syndrome. Like they took everything I don’t like in gaming and rolled it into one package (with the exception of always-Online and loot boxes).
Still doesn’t bother me; cos I like to believe Ellie had her cranium split open on the operating table and a cure was found. At least that’s how I tried to end it when i stood in front of the doctor with the scalpel for twenty minutes telling him to get on with it.
'Hyped'? This article reads like American TV. Can we have an alternative British themed title, for example, 'Poll: Are You Curiously Interested for The Last of Us 2's Return?'.
starting to wonder about some people on this site what is the real motive for being here? I get a very disingenuous feeling from a lot of you in this comment section.
I'm not as hyped for TLOUP2 as I was for Days Gone but it's definitely on the top of my list for next year! I'm hoping that the games a little bit bigger than the first one, and I also hope the story has a lot more going for it this time around.
@FullbringIchigo I was like that with borderlands 2. Everyone loved it and I could see why, I just couldn’t get into it for some reason, it didn’t click with me.
Some sections of THLOU1 are among the best pieces gaming has brought us. It set a new standard, just as Tombraider and Mario64 did in the nineties. Although i look forward to the game, and sure that it will be of very high quality, i dont think THLOU2 will set a new standard.
@Dodoo i feel the same about that game too actually, it's like you can see why loads of people love it but it just does nothing for you
it just doesn't scratch that itch for some reason
yes but
I hope they announce Knack 3. Then I will be super uber duper hyped.
@JohnnyShoulder they wouldn't do that because it would overshadow every other game coming out
#KnackisLife
@FullbringIchigo I'm Not Even Sorry But 10x Dislikes.
You Sir, You Have A S***** Taste.
What is Your Favorite Game?
Language - Quintumply
@Playstation5 I meant Last of us remastered it's already 60FPS at 1080 get the platinum of it 3 months ago.
@2Rebellious of all time, that's a tough one but i would say it's probably a toss up between The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and FINAL FANTASY IX
The Last of Us Has Everything. A 2013 Game and still is Better than Both Games that you Mentioned, Even Combined. yes even in Everyhitng.
Look I'm Not A LGBT Fan... But How the F*** People Despise The Last of Us? A Good Game is A Good game no Matter What your Taste is. you Can't Just Simply Praise The Legend of Zelda and at The Same Time, Despise The Last of US. it's Impossible.. Just Dump Gamers are Like this. Don't Be One of Em.
Language! - Quintumply
@2Rebellious if you actually went and read my posts you would see i NEVER once said i despise the game all i said was it wasn't my cup of tea but to assume everyone has to like it because it's "a good game" is extremely conceited and narrow minded
also "A Good Game is A Good game no Matter What your Taste is" well how does that work, your "taste" is what you like and not everything will appeal to it that's part of being human and what makes us all unique
@FullbringIchigo I get you. if we all love same type of gaming we won't see any variation and the companies started to copy each other.
for example I know many people doesn't like cutscene in games and they skip them as soon as they can. I ask myself how the hell he will enjoy a game without understanding the chain of events.
then i realize we have various ways to enjoy things and i am one of who enjoy the story more than the graphics.
small percent of people doesn't like last of us because they didn't give it a chance or they not into this type of gaming.
@2Rebellious Pray tell, who or what is the leading authority deciding what a good game is then? That will save me a lot of bother in the future!
@HellOfaHunter precisely, let people like and dislike what games they want to
@HellOfaHunter yes i know but TLOU 2 won't run 60fps on PS4 Pro but it will use HDR with 1440p, not native 4k
What is this game you all talk about? Never heard of it.... Its it good? I see its available on amazon...
@deadlyblack It does feel like it has been an incredibly long wait....but not nearly as long as the wait from when the first CyberPunk teaser dropped(literally 10 years ago), at least we know both are coming soon, and they will probably both be in the top 5 of PS4 games when it is all said and done. Hell, CDPR has a real chance to have two games end up in the top 3 of the entire console generation. Pretty damn impressive.
@Playstation5 absolutely right TLOU 2 will hit 30 nothing more. but I hope will do much higher on the next Gen.
@HellOfaHunter yep it will run 60fps on ps5. locked 30 fps on TLOU 2 is no problem to me because i need play it to know the story haha
