In an impressive gameplay showcase, Ubisoft kicked off its E3 2019 press conference with Watch Dogs Legion. A lot of information about the London-based open world adventure leaked ahead of time, and it turns out most of it was true. The game's USP is that you'll be able to recruit and play as any character roaming the streets of the big smoke. You can play as an ex-MI5 agent, a police officer, or a retired assassin -- if we're to believe the pitch, literally anyone in the game is playable.
You can see a glimpse of this in the above video, and it's looking mightily impressive so far. Watch Dogs Legion also got a release date; you'll be recruiting citizens to the resistance come 6th March, 2020. Next year is definitely starting to get crowded.
What do you think of Watch Dogs Legion so far? Are you impressed by the gameplay demonstration? Catch a bus in the comments below.

no ps4 marketing ?
Not gonna lie looks ambitious and the first game made big claims that didn’t happen... but this could be great and love the setting... word up son and to your momma
@Wormold Think it looks a bit more dystopian than what Corbyn would bring. I didn’t see enough old men wearing beige cardigans.
I'm not really into the Watchdogs series but this does look pretty neat. Hoping for a demo.
I expect I'll be getting FF7 in March and Cyberpunk in April so there won't be any room for this.
best of the show.
the rest was just meh.
Alright, that's better then I thought it was going to be.
@thefirst You do know what video games are, right?
This game looked very cool, and I am intrigued. It seems very ambitious, and I’m curious how deep the backstories are for these people you can take control of, but nevertheless, what I saw impressed me.
Looks a little too ambitious to be great, but we'll see. Probably the highlight of an admittedly weak E3 so far for me.
We're all going to be playing as that old lady, aren't we?
Doesn't it go to show what a decent gameplay showing can do for your show? Publishers take note.
I was actually impressed by it. Let's hope they deliver because the amount of time it will take to animate and voice each person is gonna be crazy. The bugs for this game are going to be hilarious. Holding thumbs it turns out great.
Q1-Q2 next year is getting pretty bloated with big games.
Not that I'm complaining.
I dont really know what to make of it.I loved the first game, sequel was let down by a terrible TERRIBLE cast of characters and I admit the gameplay looks great and it's extremely ambitious but already the voice actor playing 'Bagley' I found extremely annoying and don't want to listen to that throughout the whole game...I need to see more before I'm convinced.
prety exited for this game but this could go down like the first WD if they are not carefull.
maybe this is better off as a next gen only game? (same for the first WD when it also released on ps3.)
A few things I dont like but the game does look special and interesting.
RIP Ian Robshaw.
Granny was the best of the playable characters lol
Looks cool but here is my problem. The characters get levels after you recruit them(level 15 hacker or. Level 7 assassin) and a blue progress bar below it so it seems like you can pick anybody and level them in anyway you want so you can always pick the right character for the job. Some are better for certain paths by their inherent bonuses.
So does that mean you have to level everybody up? It showed permadeath for your characters so if you lose your high level hacker you need to level up a new one? Im sure all characters have all basic skills. But if you lose one with a great bonus and advanced 'hacking tree' then you'd want to find another. This could be tedious. Could mean opportunities for Uni to sell micro transactions to speed up that process.
Plus I get a feeling masks will be the big cosmetic purchase for this game.
I still need to play the first two Watch Dogs, but definitely interested.
I can play as grandma hacker? I’ll definitely play and finish the game 100% as grandma hacker, I wonder what her speciality is 🤣
I bet you can't play as any character in the game. I don't believe a word of it until I see it.
Looks good, be nice to play another game set in my backyard. Have not gone over the top with the changes to the areas from what i could see which is good..
Certainly looks more entertaining than previous incarnations, but I will still be wary...
I'll buy this simply for the pleasure of walking through central without being ambushed by Chuggers every few steps. I might actually make it to work on time!
PS. What is it with the games industry and its obsession with skinhead Brits?
@PaperyWhiteBoy Purely laziness i imagine, like the "apples n pears" accents..
But to expect any disinction between north, south, east n west London accents would be pushing it..
So as much as i love the locales, expect a mix of Ray Winstone and Dick van Dyke, lol
Looks interesting... I wonder if I can make a Dedsec Legion of grannies and grandpas and let them go around with tasers and pepper spray, beating and tripping everyone up with their umbrellas and walking sticks, cursing all the while, trying to understand how their smartphones work... They let me do that, it's day one for me
